🌿🌻 August in the Garden: Plant Now for a Fall Harvest! 🌻🌿
Just because summer is winding down doesn’t mean your garden has to! 🌞 August is the perfect time to plant fast-growing veggies, cool-season greens, and late bloomers that will keep your garden thriving into fall. 🍂
👩‍🌾 Here’s what you can plant this month:
🥕 Carrots
🥬 Kale & Spinach
🌱 Lettuce & Arugula
🥦 Broccoli & Cauliflower
🧄 Garlic (for overwintering!)
🌸 Marigolds & Nasturtiums (yes, still time!)
👉 Pro tip: Use shade cloth or mulch to protect tender seedlings from the heat.

The heat is on for the garden this summer!! It has been challenging to keep plants thriving and looking their best with the intense heat and humidity. And with Fall around the corner, planning is vital. It’s time to start our fall seedlings, assess our seed supplies, and test our soil.

Happy Earth Day! This is a reminder that the official opening of the Willingboro Community Garden will occur on Saturday, April 26th in observance of Earth Day! Please join us as we partner with Go Grow Garden to plant, clean, and learn how to better care for our community garden. Additionally, we will have nature walks and photography sessions at Crystal Lake, located at the end of Industrial Drive, off of Beverly Rancocas Road. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
