Please consider participating in this exciting summer activity.
The Textile Museum is planning a week-long activity over the summer studying the craft of growing plants to use for color dye. They are now choosing plants and will soon be ready to plant.
Where, you ask. In half of the small parking lot garden!
On Friday June 12, 2 pm, come with a shovel and pots, help the crew dig out that space to get it ready for the dye garden plants, and …. take home some of the plants yourself. Free (but a donation would be welcome).
What’s there, you ask. Lots of tall red bee balm. Obedient plant. Pale apricot iris. Turks Cap lilies and others. 1 or 2 large Russian sage. One or two Baptisia (may have to stay). Perhaps a runner of Clethra Summer Sweet. And beware - gooseneck loosestrife.
Questions? Call Charles the director at 860-456-2178 Friday Sat or Sunday 10-4 during open hours, or show up Friday. Bring your own plant receptacles.
