*64 to 70 affordable senior apartment units proposed
If you're interested in the "Radix Road Area in Need of Redevelopment Area" here is some additional information for your awareness.
This is intended to be a factual sharing and presentation of information so you can have some of the same information as the Town Council and the Mayor that is not shared with the public unless you follow and attend all of the Town Council, Planning Board, Zoning etc. meetings and/or submit an open records request or investigate these issues on your own.
This is not a forum to trash our politicians, community, or otherwise. If you want to act then go to town council meeting, email, write a letter etc. The town is under a legal settlement obligation to provide affordable housing, as is every town in NJ, but the question is where it's located and who is involved and has a say in the process.
*Monroe has entered into a 4th round settlement agreement with NJ Fair Share Housing to provide affordable housing.
*Was this Radix Rd property spot or upzoned via designating a Zoning Redevelopment Overlay to allow high density apartments so they could meet the Fair Share Housing deadlines? The property is zoned R2 (single family residential) and the engineering study, authorized by Town Council and paid for by the affordable housing Redeveloper, indicates the property is blighted. imo the report is erroneous and challenging it will reverse the properties designation as an area in need of Redevelopment. Those arguments are forthcoming in a future post.
