The Marge Clark Education Fund awarded $8,426.23 in grant projects for this year's grantmaking.

Teachers or staff members at the schools could write a proposal for a project they were going to do with students either this summer or after school first semester of next school year. All seven projects that were submitted were funded. Ms. Martin will lead an after school craft class, and Mrs. Rickey will lead a self-esteem after school program as well as an after school STEM program. Ms. Nowak will lead a cooking and baking class after school, Mrs. Reynolds will lead a crochet class after school. Mrs. Crumbaugh will get an Ultimate Kit from the STEM company infento.com to use in the Young Explorers Program. The largest grant was given to Act Two Summer Youth Theater. These students will be performing Junie B Jones Jr. The Musical from July 9th-11th. Please go and support these students who are in grades 5-8!

The Marge Clark Education Fund, a field of interest fund with the Foundation, was created in memory of Marge Clark, well-known author, farm wife, mother of four, and resident of Warren County. Marge was a very generous and giving individual, and her giving spirit continues in perpetuity through the Marge Clark Education Fund.

In February of this year, Warren Piece received a grant for 2026 public educational events, and they have hosted a few already! You can read their testimony below and be sure to mark your calendar for the next event!

"Through a grant from the Warren County Community Foundation, Warren Piece will continue hosting events where our community can come together and experience those “wow, did you see that?” and “I didn’t know that!” moments in nature.
Most recently, we welcomed the Hoosier Herpetological Society for an unforgettable evening exploring our wetlands in search of wild amphibians and reptiles. Before heading out on the trail, participants got an up close look at several live animal ambassadors, including salamanders and a snake, while learning more about the fascinating world of herpetology. It was so much fun."

Pre-registration is required for their June 20th event! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/firefly-night-hike-tickets-1988912681370

The Warren County Community Foundation was pleased to award a Lilly GIFT IX Community Support Grant to Hope Springs for $8,840. This was the amount of money needed to pay the final contractor to finish up the last few projects around the new house. We were happy to help speed up the process in getting the doors open on the new house.

At the ribbon cutting, Director Misty Barnett said a few words about the challenges the group has faced since a lightning strike hit their original house. Through perseverance and many, many private donors and grants, the ribbon cutting on May 21st was a culmination of their efforts. The house was open for tours after the ribbon cutting. It is truly a beautiful home that will serve the needs of the people Hope Springs serves.
