It's Fall Break! Treat yourself! Plan for today (Wed. October 14th)- 11am cupcake at the West Lebanon Library if you are scared they will run out. 2:00 to the Free Pickleball lesson in Williamsport. Back to West Lebanon at 3:30 to meet the Wizard of Oz Youth Edition cast members. (You could gamble that they will still have cupcakes at the library and only go there once)

Recently the Foundation continued to partner with the Warren County Community Paramedic program. The Warren County Impact Fund purchased a handheld point-of-care ultrasound system. Using a single portable probe connected to a mobile device, trained clinicians can perform focused assessments of the heart, lungs, bladder, blood vessels, and other structures at the point of care. We are always looking for opportunities in the community that promote health, wellness, healthy food for all, and social connection. We have been regranting the funds that we received from Lilly Endowment GIFT IX Community Support Grant. A couple of weeks ago, we were able to help the Historical Society get a new roof. The $21,550 project was fully funded by WCCF!
Another project that we reported on earlier was buying a small shed for Illiana Antique Power to house their Pre-Civil War loom. This loom went from being many pieces in a barn, to being put together by Illiana Antique Power Association Members. However, they didn't have a home for the loom so they were having to take it apart and put it back together. Funding a small building for it has now allowed the organization to blossom with this loom and we couldn't be more proud and happy for them. They have replaced broken parts and have actually learned how to use it! These photos show the first rug being created with the loom.

We had 20 people attend the first FREE pickleball lesson at the Williamsport Park. There are two more opportunities. Next is Wednesday October 14th at 2:00. ATTENTION: IF IT IS RAINING OR THE COURTS ARE VERY WET FROM RAIN, WE WILL BE INDOORS AT BIG PINE PICKLEBALL CLUB- 580 IN Highway 55. The last opportunity will be Sunday October 18th at 2:00 .At the next two there will be one court for brand new beginners and there will be one court for people who were at the first lesson or people that feel like they have a pretty good understanding of the sport. There will be more advanced tips on that court.

We are ahead of pace but we need YOU!!! We are 1/4 of the way through our 100 days. Today is Day 25 since we launched our 100 days to raise 100K for the Food Building project. We are more than 1/3 of the way to our financial goal. Last week, we met our first goal which was to get the Notice to Bidders out. There has also been a pre-bid meeting for contractors. Exciting times. Keep those donations coming. EVERY SINGLE ONE IS IMPORTANT. Bring your child down to the office with some money from their piggy bank and we will have a conversation with them about philanthropy and how the collective impact of everyone doing what they can is important and makes a difference. That $5 from a child's allowance plants a seed of being generous within your means....AND they will get their name on the sign!!

We were so happy to help sponsor this day by getting the shirts for the students, providing lunch, and helping match local organizations who could use some extra helping hands with the seniors. Thank you for Dr. Shrader, Dr. Cripe, Mr. Brown, Mr. Beyer, Mrs. Beyer, Ms. O'Farrell, Mr. John, Mr. Budreau, and Mrs. Amble from the school for making this day possible. Thank you for the 27 adults in the community that volunteered to be adult supervision at each host location. SO much was accomplished. This day of service is a great example of collective impact. Approximately 100 students and 27 adults working 2.5 hours each yielded over 300 hours of service in one morning for our community!!!! Thanks so much to everyone involved!

There will be a dedication for the monument that was placed at the site that was once the Judyville School. It will take place Sunday October, 18th at 3:00pm. Please bring a lawn chair. If you have any memorabilia please bring it. Light refreshments will be served. To get to the location you will take W 300 N. Then turn south onto either N 2nd Ave. or N 3rd Ave. The monument is just off N 3rd Street which intersects 2nd and 3rd Avenues.

The Impact Fund at the Warren County Community Foundation has MANY facets. From being a partial funder of the Warren County Paramedicine program to purchasing AED devices for the Fire Departments to a push for Healthy Food for all and Mental Health First Aid training, the Impact Fund has accomplished a lot in its first 1.5 years. One piece is also staying physically activite and creating social connection. That is why we are so excited to announce this one! Free Pickleball lessons. This is a sport that anyone from young to old can try. Matt Lemming is our local expert and he has agreed to offer three different dates. You do not have to have any experience whatsoever. However, if you have played before and just want to come to hear his tips and instruction, that is great too. If you don't have a paddle no worries, we will have some paddles for people to borrow. We have strategically chosen these three times to hopefully cater to everyone's schedule. SPREAD THE WORD!
