FIRST PHASE OF KINGSMILL PLANTATION DEPENDENCY STABILIZATION COMPLETED
The Kingsmill Community Foundation is pleased to share that the first phase of stabilizing the Kingsmill Plantation dependency was completed on 05/29/2026. This work marks an important step in preserving one of our community’s most significant historic resources for future generations.

The project was managed and completed by Isaac Hyde, a former craftsman with Colonial Williamsburg, in partnership with The King’s Garden Landscapes. Isaac’s experience with historic landscapes and preservation-focused work has helped ensure that this stabilization respects the character and history of the site.

We are especially grateful to Mitch Foos, owner of The King’s Garden Landscapes, who has committed to partnering with the Kingsmill Community Foundation by providing stabilization services at their cost with an additional discount. This generous arrangement helps to minimize overall expenses while allowing the Foundation to focus its resources on long-term preservation.

What an awesome inaugural KCF event! With about 80 people in attendance, Mark Wenger gave a highly interesting presentation at the Kingsmill Plantation site. Residents enjoyed light refreshments, were able to see photos of the Dependencies’ interior and listened to a plethora of historic information and were able to ask Mark a wide range of questions….and were just getting started!
