Restoring our community is not something that can happen on the side.

It requires full time focus, commitment, and action because the work is too important to wait.

We had an incredible work party up on the 7810 road across from Triple Bridges, working to clear the route all the way up toward Barehead and Summit Lake. It took nearly seven hours of driving, clearing debris, and hiking to finally make it to Summit Lake, where snow still completely covers the area.

Standing there today was a reminder of exactly why the last year of work mattered. This landscape is absolutely majestic. Through persistence, partnership, and determination, the Wilkeson Historical District was able to secure real property and make a way back up into this part of the Carbon Canyon once again.

These lands matter. The history matters. Public access matters.

If you would like to help steward land in the Carbon Canyon and support the work being done through the Wilkeson Historical District, we would love to connect with you. Please send us an email, reach out directly, or take a look at our website to learn more.

✨Great hike with friends up to Mowich Lake starting from Paul Peak.

We didn’t hit much snow until the very last portion of the final mile, and once we reached the campground there was about a foot of snow remaining.

It was amazing to see park volunteers already out taking inventory of trail conditions and beginning preparations for the season ahead.

Always grateful for the people helping maintain access to these incredible places. Such a beautiful day in the mountains with good friends.

📣 Save the Date!

Wilkeson Historical District and the Town of Wilkeson are hosting a community meeting to share important updates and next steps for Wilkeson — including access issues, economic recovery, and future plans for our town. More info to come!

The Town of Wilkeson has really stepped up to the plate and we are THANKFUL. Anyone reading this should be THANKFUL, not only is this mighty town, population 472 strong, fighting with everything they've got to keep their own Town relevant & alive, they're fighting for ALL of us to have ACCESS to our PUBLIC LANDS again.
The entire NW corner of Mt. Rainier National Park, Evans Creek ORV Park & 1000's of acres of US Forest Service lands are cut off to the public, residents are cut off from loved ones visiting, all due to the immediate closure of the Fairfax Bridge on April 14th.
Our State Legislature has let us ALL down by not prioritizing & financing BRIDGE & ROAD maintenance and repair for the last 30 years.
It's more important than ever to keep the pressure on WSDOT and our elected officials to replace the Fairfax Bridge as soon as possible.
The WSDOT SR 165 Planning Study report is expected sometime this month, August 2025, with full public release.
A Wilkeson Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for September 11th.
