📌Sharing from our friends over at NCA.
Sleepovers have long been a part of childhood, bringing friends together and creating lasting memories. But for some families today, these traditions are being reconsidered.

In a recent New York Sun article, Fears of Sexual Abuse, Drugs, and Guns Threaten a Childhood Institution —the Sleepover, experts, including National Children's Alliance CEO Teresa Huizar, explore how growing awareness around child safety is reshaping how families think about overnight stays, especially for younger children.

The piece emphasize that this isn’t about fear. It’s about making thoughtful, informed choices, whether that means asking more questions, setting expectations, or perhaps, considering alternatives like “sleepunders.”

We're building a mobile app to help law enforcement officers connect victims with resources — and we need a developer to help make it happen.

Our request for proposals is now open. The app, set to debut in 2027, is designed for agencies without in-house victim services, giving officers an on-hand tool to connect people with support when they need it most.

Proposals must be submitted by 8 p.m. Eastern on June 29. Learn more and view the RFP at victimsofcrime.link/victimapp.
