Blake’s Buddies has been around for many years and has been helping with the fight against ALS. Blake’s Buddies was created to honor Blake Hanzlick who lost his battle with ALS on October 30th, 2002. He was a great son, husband, dad, friend and to this day, not a day goes by that he is not remembered. As part of Blake’s Buddies, we have helped support The ALS Association and their fight to help fi
nd a cure for this horrible disease. Our annual co-ed softball tournament brings family and friends together in the game that Blake loved to play. Also, with golf tournaments and many other fundraisers, Blake’s Buddies has helped raise thousands of dollars for ALS. In August of 2015, some high school friends approached us with the idea to work together on our next event and that was the start of 3 Hearts. Blake’s Buddies and 3 Hearts will now be under the same umbrella with new members to our family. We are now honored to say that now, two great charities will be helped in hoping to find a cure for ALS and Pancreatic Cancer. The ALS Association and Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will be our center point for raising money that will be divided equally between both. Pancreatic Cancer has been a big part in the Blake’s Buddies family since 2010 when Walter “Flip” Phillips Jr. lost his fight to Pancreatic Cancer on May 28th, 2010. Along with these two men, we honor Beth Kreutzer who on August 26th, 2012 lost her battle to Pancreatic Cancer.
3 Hearts/Blake’s Buddies will be having our first event on October 24th, 2015 in the form of a clay shoot.
