On behalf of the members of the Kansas State Lodge - Fraternal Order of Police we extend our thoughts and prayers to the three Osage County, KS Sheriff’s Office deputies and the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper who were shot this morning outside of Carbondale responding to a call for service.

Our hearts are with the Kansas Highway Patrol, Osage County Sheriff’s Office, and all the agencies that responded. We stand with you and are here for you!

Our hearts were shattered once again yesterday as Kansas suffered the loss of a fourth law enforcement officer responding to a call in their own community in just three months, leaving new scars and shattered communities in its wake. Officer Simoncic was intentionally struck by a fleeing suspect in a stolen vehicle while deploying stop sticks during a pursuit.

Officer Simoncic served with the Kansas City Police Department for just over one year and was admired for his dedication, integrity, and strength of character. A passionate gym-goer, his drive and discipline are reflected in this tribute design.

This memorial design was created with input from his loved ones and fellow officers to honor his service and sacrifice.
