The HWC is proud to be part of the local advisory group that will select the recipients for the Weaver Award. Thank you to Neighboring Movement and Weave: The Social Fabric Project for this cool community initiative.

Weaver Awards applications are now open! This partnership with Weave: The Social Fabric Project and the Aspen Institute will help us celebrate and support the everyday neighbors who are building trust, belonging, and connection right here in Wichita.

A local advisory group will select 20 recipients to receive $2,500-$5,000 each, along with resources to support their work fostering connection. We can't wait to help shine a light on the people who make our community stronger!

If you are a weaver - or know someone who is - you can apply or make a nomination by August 31.

Thanks to Club Parkinson's for hosting a successful April meeting. 16 community partners learned about living with Parkinson's, a movement disorder. It is the fastest growing brain disease and movement helps! In addition to 30 exercise classes per week, they also offer a mental health program, an educational series, social activities, research and baseline testing!
