Shout out to ALL first responders as the festival begins Friday. It is a crazy busy time in our community. And also a big shout out to these three ⬇️ and the entire festival staff and all of their volunteers. The 53rd annual Wichita Riverfest takes place starting tomorrow - May 29 through June 6. The nine-day event is packed with live music, a food court, and family activities across downtown Wichita, KS.

Congratulations to the 71st Session of the Citizen’s Police Academy participants. Graduation ceremony and a friends and family reception hosted by CPAAA was held Wednesday evening with ‘all things law enforcement’. K-9 “OZ” even made a special appearance.

HELLO and a big THANK YOU to Officer Faith O’Neal from the Wichita Police Department. Officer O’Neal has been with the WPD for 3+ years and is a Community Service Officer (CSO). Recently we caught up with Officer O’Neal at Patrol East.
We asked a few questions… 🚔 Are you a dog or cat person? 💥 Both! I have a dog “Juno and two cats, “Leda and “TK (tiny kitten). 🚔 Do you have any memorable calls? 💥 On a two car traffic stop, we had a Spanish interpreter with us and it was pouring down rain. I was writing this man a ticket - in the rain - and he got an umbrella out from his car and from his drivers side seat he held the umbrella over me and my head. You just knew this gentleman was raised right. (Can you believe we have such awesome community members) 🚔 What is your favorite holiday? 💥 Fireworks, family and fun - my favorite is the 4th of July. 🚔 Officer O’Neal wants to knock a few things off her bucket list… like attending an opera and jumping out of an airplane. Just how cool would each of those items be to knock off your bucket list.

HELLO and a big THANK YOU to Firefighter Mark Williams from the Wichita Fire Department. FF Williams has been with the WFD for 13+ years and is assigned to Station # 13 C-shift.
We asked a few questions … 🚒 If you could be a super hero - which one and why? 🔥 I would be one that could fly, that would be very cool. I could get from point A to B faster. 🚒 What is your favorite holiday? 🔥 All things Christmas with family time and making memories. 🚒 Dog or cat person? 🔥 I have one dog “Rue” who is a lovable schnauzer. 🚒 Do you eat meals together at the station?🔥We get together for cooking and cleanup at dinner. We have good conversation and discussions about the world and I have to say the comradery is my favorite part of the job. On weekends we have breakfast together as well. 🔥 Next time you see FF Williams ask him why he carries chalk in his pockets.
