Branch 201 Taco Night Fundraiser before our April branch meeting tonight! Doors open at six, meeting starts at 7. We will have basic items for tacos and feel free to bring other items to share. Proceeds will go to the Christmas Adopt a Family fund.

So thankful for and proud of Tiffany and all our hero’s our branch has had!

Next in our Heroes of the Year series: Honorable Act Recipient Tiffany McCarty.
While delivering in Wichita, KS, Tiffany was approached by a young woman fleeing danger and immediately called 911. She helped her take cover in her LLV.
Her quick thinking helped keep the woman safe until emergency responders arrived.
Her actions reflect the deep commitment letter carriers have to their communities—always ready to step in, protect others, and provide help in moments of crisis.

Teva Pharmaceuticals received FDA approval and launched the first generic GLP-1 drug for diabetes and weight loss. The cost for this generic medication is a tiny fraction of the price of its brand name equivalent and most other GLP-1 drugs. For those members having trouble finding manufacture coupons, or who just don’t want to pay the higher coinsurance, this is a generic option that could be discussed with the treating provider.

Liraglutide is the generic form of Victoza, a GLP-1 receptor antagonist used to treat diabetes, and it is also the generic form of Saxenda which is used for weight loss.

I hope this information is useful and I encourage you to share with the members who have expressed frustration related the new member cost share for GLP-1 medications.

More than 65% of today’s letter carriers started as CCAs, TEs, or casuals—doing the same work as career employees, but earning no retirement credit for that time.
The Federal Retirement Fairness Act would allow letter carriers to buy back that non-career service to count towards retirement.

Classes covered topics ranging from new Article 8 provisions, owcp, new employee retention, route count and inspections and much more.
