Fighters For Frenchies Foundation We are a non-profit organization based out of Kansas that works to rehabilitate and advocate for French Bulldogs and other brachycephalic breeds.

We also assist special needs dogs. https://www.fightersforfrenchies.com Our organization was officially founded in 2025, but we have over 10 years of rescue experience. Our primary focus is French Bulldogs and other brachycephalic breeds, but we also take in special needs animals when we have space. We currently take in owner/breeder surrenders and hope to help shelter dogs in the near future. We

specialize in taking dogs with IVDD and various medical conditions. We're currently located in Wichita, KS and place dogs in foster homes until they are adoption ready. It is our hope to one day bring awareness on these breeds and education to the Wichita area, which is overrun with unethical, backyard breeders.

Some dogs come into rescue with a straightforward story. Augus wasn’t one of them.

This special boy came to us as a breeder surrender when he was only about six months old. At the time, we were told his only medical issue was a cherry eye that his previous owners couldn’t be bothered to fix. Cherry eye surgery is a relatively simple procedure, so taking him in seemed like an easy decision.

It didn’t take long for us to realize there was much more to Augus’s story.

We quickly noticed his quirky walk and discovered he was fully incontinent. Further testing revealed that Augus has both hip dysplasia and spina bifida. While his medical needs were far more extensive than we had anticipated, we are incredibly grateful he found his way into rescue and not into the wrong hands.

Despite his diagnoses, he is completely mobile, full of personality, and one of the happiest, sweetest bulldogs you’ll ever meet. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and animals, and while we can’t promise he’s overflowing with brain cells, he more than makes up for it with love, affection, and endless smiles.

Augus wears diapers throughout the day and requires regular cleaning and diaper changes. The good news is that he does not require bladder expression. He also takes several supplements to support his urinary health, help prevent bladder infections, and maintain his gut, joint, and hip health.

Because of his condition, we take precautions to limit excessive jumping and stair use to help protect his mobility long-term.

We’ll be honest—Augus is not a low-maintenance dog. He requires a family willing to commit to his daily care routine and understand his special needs. But with a little extra effort, he lives a happy, active, and incredibly normal life.

What Augus needs most is a breed-experienced family that sees beyond his medical conditions and recognizes the amazing dog underneath. A family that understands that special needs dogs are still deserving of adventure, love, and a place to call home.

📣 CANYON IS WAITING FOR HER FOREVER FAMILY!

This big girl is patiently waiting for her perfect match. She may be the largest dog currently in our care, but that just means she has even more love to give.

💔 Like so many rescue dogs, Canyon’s story hasn’t been an easy one. We know she ended up at the Wichita Animal Shelter last year in heartbreaking condition. Her skin allergies had become so severe, and her ears were so swollen and inflamed that they were nearly three times their normal size.

Over the following months, we worked closely with our veterinary team, trying various medications and allergy treatments in search of answers. Eventually, we discovered she was battling a rare ear infection that required a specialized medication that isn’t commonly used. Once we got her started on the proper treatment, everything began to turn around.

🎉 Today, Canyon’s ears are clear, she’s feeling so much better, and she’s officially ready to find her forever family!

Canyon does still experience occasional skin allergy flare-ups and will do best with routine allergy management, but otherwise she’s a pretty easy-going girl. Her favorite thing in the world is simply being close to her people.

🐾 Would thrive as an only dog where she can soak up all the attention
🐾 May be able to coexist with an older, submissive dog, but we would still recommend supervision and not leaving dogs unattended together

🚨 Piglet Has Struck Again 🚨

Despite multiple conversations about appropriate beauty routines, Piglet remains convinced that mud baths are superior to actual baths. As you can see, she once again transformed herself into a chocolate-covered Frenchie and proudly showed off her hard work.

This sweet girl is settling in and will be seeing our vet next week to get her vetting completed and to schedule her spay and nares surgery. She is currently with a temp foster and still looking for placement!

When she’s not redecorating herself with mud, Piglet is an absolute dream. She is dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and a certified professional snuggle bug. Her favorite hobbies include:

⚽ Chasing and playing with soccer balls
🐷 Rolling in every mud puddle she can find
🛋️ Snuggling with her people
❤️ Being everyone’s best friend

Honestly, if there were an Olympic event for finding mud, Piglet would be bringing home the gold medal every single time.

For now, we’re stocking up on shampoo and accepting that clean is simply not part of Piglet’s life plan.

❤️ Biscotti Update! ❤️

Biscotti is continuing to enjoy every moment she has with her amazing foster family, and our plan remains the same: to keep her comfortable, loved, and spoiled for as long as she is ready to stay with us.

She has good days and bad days, but through it all, she continues to show us her sweet spirit. Unfortunately, Biscotti drew the short stick in life. Cases like hers are exactly why we advocate so passionately for these dogs and why we hope more breeders begin prioritizing health over appearance.

The reality is that French Bulldogs can face an overwhelming number of medical challenges, and even the “lucky” ones often deal with issues that impact their quality of life. It simply isn’t fair.

We love Biscotti more than words can express, and we are incredibly grateful to her foster family for loving her just as fiercely. They have given her comfort, happiness, and a home filled with love, and that means everything.

Please continue to keep our sweet girl in your thoughts and celebrate every good day alongside us.

🎉🥳 Yesterday was Adoption Day for Zaza! 🥳🎉

We couldn’t be any happier for him and his new family! We are especially excited for the bond he is going to form with his new brother.

Every adoption is special, but this one holds an extra place in our hearts. Zaza has been on a medical hold for quite some time, and his family waited so patiently for him to be ready. We don’t see that often, as most families understandably hope to bring their new dog home sooner rather than later. Their patience, commitment, and love for Zaza before he even arrived speaks volumes.

Zaza is already making himself right at home, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for him.

We also want to give a huge thank you to his incredible foster mom, who dedicated so much time, love, and effort to helping him heal. When Zaza first came to us, he was a pretty big mess. After months of dealing with chronic bloody, diarrhea, and in the middle of a blizzard, his foster mom stepped up and brought him into her home.

We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We didn’t know what was wrong with this dog, but we knew he needed us.

After countless vet visits, prescription diets, medications, diapers, potty pads, longer nights, and plenty of trial and error, Zaza finally got the answers and care he needed. Thanks to the dedication of his foster mom and veterinary team, he is now healthy enough to begin the next chapter of his life.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to one of our amazing volunteers who stepped up to help transport Zaza to his forever family yesterday. Rescue truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for the people who are always willing to lend a hand when needed. Whether it’s fostering, transporting, fundraising, or simply showing up when a dog needs them most, volunteers like you help make happy endings like Zaza’s possible. Thank you for being such an important part of his journey.

For the first time in what feels like forever, we are so proud to say that ALL of our outstanding vet bills have officially been paid off. Because of your support, we can finally stop stressing about debt and start focusing fully on the future care our dogs need. ❤️

But rescue never slows down, and we already have several major appointments coming up.

🐷 Piglet still needs:
• Spay surgery
• Vaccines
• Heartworm test
• Nares
…and all the other routine care that comes with welcoming a new rescue dog.

❤️ Hallie is also approaching a huge milestone. She is coming up on her last week of medication and will soon begin heartworm treatment. As many of you know, heartworm treatment is lifesaving — but it is also expensive.

On top of that, we continue to cover:

🐾 Weekly supplies
🐾 Food, diapers, cleaning supplies, and everyday rescue needs

🐷🤎 Everyone meet Piglet! 🤎🐷

Her name fits her perfectly because this little piggy is OBSESSED with mud and rolling around outside. If there’s a muddy spot in the yard, Piglet will find it. 😂 She also loves soccer balls and will happily spend her time pushing them all over the yard like it’s her full-time job.

Piglet was originally found as a stray, and sadly no owners ever came forward for her. She was found with scarring and urine staining on her underside, so we know this little girl has not had the easiest start in life. Despite that, Piglet is full of happiness, energy, and personality.

She is a high-energy, playful girl who does great with other dogs and is always ready for fun. She will be seeing our vet soon where we’ll schedule her spay and possibly discuss nares surgery as well. We believe she is still pretty young, but we’ll know more after her vetting appointments! We also need funds to schedule her soon!

Right now, Piglet is looking for a LOCAL foster in the Wichita area. She will need:
• A secure fenced yard
• An active home that can match her playful energy
• No fence-fighting dogs next door if possible, because she absolutely likes to join in on the neighborhood drama 😅

We are unsure how she does with cats, but so far she does not appear to have much of a prey drive.

She may be a muddy little gremlin, but she is also one of the cutest little girls and deserves a fresh start with people who will love and protect her. Welcome to the Fighters For Frenchies family, Piglet 🐾🤎

💫✨ Adopt Comet ✨💫

Comet is one of the lucky ones — a former breeder who was just hours away from euthanasia before everything changed. Thanks to an incredible foster and dedicated volunteers, we were able to step in just in time and bring her to safety.

At around 5 years old, Comet has already lived a life that asked far too much of her. Used for breeding and given little in return, she’s missed out on the love and comfort every dog deserves. But that chapter is officially closed — she’s now spayed, fully vetted, and finally ready to start living for herself.

And despite everything she’s been through? She’s still so gentle, so kind, and dog-friendly. Comet is ready to learn what it means to be cherished, to have a soft bed, a full belly, and a family who will never let her down again.

💛 Meet Ollie 💛

Ollie is a 6-year-old French bulldog who is still patiently waiting for the one thing he wants most in the world… his forever person.

Now, Ollie is what we lovingly call “selectively social with very strong opinions.” He lives with skin allergies (a very common Frenchie challenge), but his real quirks are all about his boundaries and comfort zone.

Ollie is:

🚫 Not a fan of children
🚫 Not comfortable with men
🚫 Very dog selective (he’s happiest as an only dog, though he may be able to coexist with the right calm female companion)
😺 Surprisingly cat friendly after a few “feline life lessons”

Because of this, his dream home is very specific: a calm, adult-only home with no dogs, ideally with a woman who wants a devoted shadow, couch buddy, and best friend.

We know that sounds like a unicorn home. But Ollie is proof that sometimes the right match exists exactly as you need it to.

In the right environment, Ollie transforms. He is affectionate, deeply loyal, and absolutely thrives when he can finally relax and just be someone’s dog. He wants nothing more than to follow you from room to room, curl up beside you, and never feel like he has to compete for attention again.

Right now, Ollie is struggling in his foster environment with multiple dogs, crate rotation, and constant stress. It’s not where he can shine—or where he can heal into the happiest version of himself.

He doesn’t need a big world. He just needs one person. His person.
