ere 55,000 total people over the age of 65 with Alzheimer’s, and by 2025 there is projected to be 62,000, an estimated 12.7% increase. This disease weighs heavily on the patients, caregivers, families, and friends affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Our goal with Boozilee for ALZ is to raise awareness and funds to help families suffering from this disease have the support and community they need.

Wow… what an incredible night Friday was. We saw our community come together—sharing stories, personal journeys, and standing united in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Because of you, we raised more than $15,000, all of which will directly serve families right here in the Wichita community.

Jeff and I are so proud of this year’s event, but we know it wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible sponsors. Please help us give a BIG thank you to Chrissy Robben and Hexcode Marketing for being our title sponsor.

Pat Pelkowski has truly built one of the best bartending teams around— Shaken or Stirred Bartending kept the drinks flowing all night long. And while we heard so many compliments on our venue, that wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and support of the Loop family and The Atreeum.

We are also so grateful to Joe Tiegert and Vanessa Rohlman with RT Financial Advisors, as well as CenterWell and Aetna for providing an incredible meal for our guests. And a big thank you to McCurdy Auction for helping us raise even more through our live auction.

I asked my friend Arta Quam if she would share about her family’s journey with Alzheimer’s. Her story is powerful, heartfelt, and a reminder of why this event matters so much.

When you’re walking through Alzheimer’s, you NEED your community. And when you’re hosting an event for the Alzheimer’s community… you REALLY need your community.

One of my favorite auction items this year is a handmade quilt from one of my former (and maybe favorite 😉) teachers. She didn’t hesitate to say yes — and even incorporated the colors of the Alzheimer’s Promise Garden into the design.
