🎉 WE ARE CELEBRATING! 🎉
The Newton Community Foundation is excited to announce the recipients of the 2026 USD 373 Academic Enhancement Fund Competitive Grants!
Because of the generosity of our donors, $14,554 has been awarded to support seven outstanding classroom projects that will inspire creativity, expand opportunities, and enrich learning experiences for Newton students.
Congratulations to our grant recipients:
🌟 Jennifer Forbes (South Breeze Elementary) – Hands-on math and literacy manipulatives for her self-contained classroom.
🎥 Greg Bergman (Newton High Fine Arts) – A new camera to record and livestream concerts so more families can enjoy student performances.
🎸 Amy Ives (Newton High School Fine Arts) – New instruments and supplies to support the growing guitar program.
🔬 Kiley Preheim – Resources to help Newton Science Olympiad students compete across 23 scientific disciplines.
🖨️ Nicki Warzeka – On-demand color printing for visual aids, social stories, and curriculum accommodations that support students with diverse needs.
📚 Cathlina Bergman – Beanstack for the 2026–2027 school year, encouraging a culture of reading through challenges and student engagement.
🏺 Sean Monaghen – New pottery centering tools to enhance the Newton High School ceramics program.
These projects represent the creativity, passion, and dedication of our educators, and they are possible because our community continues to invest in Newton students.
