Bread of Life Wichita Bread of Life, a 501(c) (3) charitable agency, has been serving those in need in Wichita, Kansas and surrounding communities since 1991.

We are open on Tuesdays from 10:00am - 1:45pm On a weekly basis, Bread of Life has endeavored to meet the needs of those in need, living in Wichita, the largest city in the state, and the South Central region of Kansas, by successfully distributing food, clothing and essentials to people in constantly growing numbers. Approximately 18.7% of Kansans are going hungry each week* and Bread of Life exi

sts to offer them a helping hand. The charity serves people of all ages, from all races and cultures, covering Sedgwick County and eight other Kansas counties. Those who come to us for help include single mothers, grandparents raising grandchildren, veterans, the jobless and the homeless. Our records show that nearly 40% of recipients are children under 18, and 20% are seniors. Bread of Life is open on Tuesdays for distribution from 10 am to 1:45. Information you need to bring for first time assistance is a photo ID (driver's license), social security card for all family members, and a piece of mail verifying your current address.

Trista was happy to tell us she got a home and a job.

Chris is now healthy and on the list for a home. Both these things he has prayed for at Bread of Life.

One client was in trouble with the law. After much prayer he is walking with the Lord and the Lord has worked out his problems. Praise the Lord!

Several clients came in experiencing pain and after prayer pain was gone or considerably better.

One client is thanking God for being recalled to his job.

Margaret said eyesight was a lot clearer after prayer with counselor.

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Steven Walters. Newly married couple Steven and Gen met each other at Bread of Life. They have been faithfully serving here for 8 and 13 years, respectively. We are so blessed to have them with us at BOL and are very happy about their recent marriage!

Sandra came in with pain in both knees and after prayer the pain was gone!

Debra has completed cancer treatment, and all scans are clear.

Eric thought he came today to get food, but God's plan was for him to give his life to the Lord! Hallelujah!

***VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT***
Married couple, Gary and Connie Young, have been volunteering at Bread of Life since June of 2014 after being invited by friend and co-volunteer Kathy Cota. When asked what they like most about volunteering, they said, “We love serving and helping others.” Connie added, “We love being part of something bigger than us, the spiritual aspect- the salvations and miracles that happen every week! Their dedication to service has been evident throughout their 65 years of marriage. They were missionaries in Burundi for 16 years, have volunteered at Celebrate Recovery-Derby for the last 20 years, helped to start and are currently on the Board of Friends of Kibimba Hospital (which provides funds for the needs of the people of Kibimba), and spent many years working with the youth at Derby Friends Church. Gary and Connie are a blessing to BOL and we want to extend a huge thank you for their service!

Last month Terri asked for prayers to get a job. She came back this month and said she got the job!

Etta declared she is healed of cancer and Lupus!

Armando is giving praise to God today after praying over his court date last month. All went well!

Through prayer and God, one client was able to forgive her mother and left feeling lighter and much better.

Several clients came in today with pain in different places on their body and after prayer pain had lessened and, in some cases, even subsided altogether.
