This one feels a little full circle.

Our very own PC Patton is finishing his bachelor’s degree in education AND has officially accepted a teaching position at one of our favorite Wichita Public Schools!

And because apparently we aren’t quite ready to let him go-and thankfully, he isn’t quite ready to leave us either-he’ll also be staying with Prime Fit Youth Foundation and continuing to pour into our kids through our after-school programming.

I LOVE this.

Because this is what we mean when we talk about multiplication.

Patton came into this work as a mentor-showing up, building relationships, encouraging kids, and becoming a trusted adult in their lives.

And now he gets to carry everything he has learned into his own classroom.

Different role.
Same mission.
Even greater reach.

One of the things I’m most proud of about Prime Fit Youth Foundation isn't just the young people we serve. It's watching the incredible humans who serve them grow into educators, leaders, and difference-makers themselves.

And then they go out and multiply that impact.

We are SO proud of you!

One of our Prime Fit Youth Foundation mentors flew the coop and took his gifts all the way to Louisiana.

And apparently, teaching wasn’t enough for him… because he just got accepted into a graduate program in Educational Psychology!

THIS is what multiplication looks like.

We talk so much about the impact our mentors have on young people—and they absolutely do. But one of my favorite parts of this work is getting a front-row seat as our mentors grow, discover their own purpose, and step into what’s next for them!

He came to Prime Fit Youth Foundation to pour into kids.

Now he’s teaching them.

Studying how they learn, grow, and develop.

And continuing to become the kind of leader who will impact young people for years to come.

We miss having him here in Wichita, but goodness, we are proud to watch him flourish in New Orleans.

What if mentoring meant more than checking in with a student once a week?
Prime Fit Youth Foundation puts mentors in schools every day, combining relationships with academic support and intentional skill-building. Its evidence-based approach focuses on six core outcomes, with preliminary data showing 88% to 94% of participating students met or exceeded those measures.

We visited Prime Fit's recently completed summer program, where students were building reading skills, practicing critical thinking and learning how to confidently explain their ideas.

Others lead one conversation, one student, and one act of kindness at a time.

Today we're celebrating one of those people.

Congratulations to Dexster McGee
on being recognized as a 2026 Wichita Business Journal Unsung Hero!

Dex serves students across several Wichita elementary schools, but his impact extends far beyond the school day. Whether he's showing up to basketball games, cheering from the stands at a drumline performance, celebrating school events, or simply being a consistent adult who keeps showing up, he reminds young people that they matter.

His leadership isn't loud.

It's steady.
It's faithful.
It's relational.

At Prime Fit Youth Foundation, we believe that connection changes everything, and Dex lives that mission every single day. He creates spaces where students feel seen, safe, valued, and believed in. The trust he builds changes lives in ways that may never make headlines-but they change futures.
