The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) was created in 1932 within The American Legion.

Squadron 4 is proudly part of the American Legion Post 4 which is named in honor of Lt Thomas Hopkins who was killed in the line of duty in France during World War I.

Post 4 just received a tremendous donation of 50 backpacks for homeless veterans filled with a wide variety of needed items. The backpacks were compiled and donated by hopefor22aday.org; this generous donation was arranged by Marine veteran Post 4 member Irona Cliver of SGT. C’s Leathers. This will help many homeless veterans. Thank you hopefor22aday.org and Irona!

🍝 Spaghetti Night is Back at Thomas Hopkins American Legion Post 4! 🍝

Join us this Wednesday before the Auxiliary and Legion meetings for a delicious homemade spaghetti dinner featuring the favorite recipe everyone loved a few years ago!

Start your meal with a fresh salad, then enjoy a generous serving of spaghetti topped with our hearty, meaty tomato sauce. Every dinner also includes warm garlic bread.

Hey, all Post 4 members: Come to the Post this Wednesday for a group photo in honor of America’s 250 years; photo will be taken at 6:55 PM just prior to Legion meeting. Come early to dine; SAL is serving spaghetti and meatballs.

Across the nation, American Legion Family members are proudly helping commemorate America’s 250th Birthday, participating in ceremonies, parades, rides, and community events that honor our nation’s history and those who have served to protect it.
Here at Thomas Hopkins American Legion Post #4, we’re proud to be part of this historic celebration and encourage our members and community to join us as we honor 250 years of freedom, service, and patriotism.

📸 If you’re participating in an America250 event, don’t forget to capture your memories! The American Legion is accepting photos from Legion Family activities through July 7 for possible publication in its national media and social channels. (They will not be accepting photoshoped or AI generated photos)

Dole VA Medical Center and the VA Regional Office are hosting a claims and enrollment clinic at Post 4 on July 11. Veterans, family members, caregivers, and survivors will have the opportunity to visit with staff from Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) staff, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and Veteran Service Organization (VSO) Officers to get assistance with disability claims, health care enrollment, access to other benefits and services, and get answers to your questions.

Come out at 5pm and support the Thomas Hopkins American Legion Cruisers Post 4, they are serving Hamburgers, French Fries or Potato Salad. $10 per basket.

After conferring with VA Homeless Program on the current most needed items for homeless veterans, we used the $18,000 proceeds from the Valentine event to purchase and deliver:
30 Queen size mattresses
and platform frames
30 Bedding (comforter & sheet sets)
20 Microwaves
20 Vacuum cleaners
25 Televisions/antennas
20 Shopping/laundry wheeled carts
20 Kitchen trash cans
20 Laundry baskets
20 Brooms/dustpans
20 Mops
40 Bath towels
25 Shower curtain/rings/rods
20 First aid kits
3 large packs of Kitchen/bar towels
5 large packs Toilet paper
We thank everyone involved with this event to be able to support many homeless veterans as they move from shelters to permanent homes.
