No one in this world should be hungry. That's why the CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a yearly gathering. It's a movement that's 55 years strong, made up of compassionate people in more than 500 communities across the U.S.

The steps we take - and the funds we raise together - will provide life-saving support including emergency food and resources, along with the seeds, tools and programs that will help families feed themselves in the future.

The Wichita CROP Hunger Walk will begin at 2:00 p.m. near the Horseshoe Shelter at Sedgwick County Park. Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. People who raise $50 or more will receive a t-shirt. Join us!

This is a terrible terrible earthquake. The money we raise with our Wichita CROP Walk
helps fight hunger locally and internationally through Church World Service. Church World Service works in partnership with other aid organizations including UMCOR and Lutheran World Relief and others including groups who are in a position to help in this terrible time for people in Afghanistan. Partnerships are so important.

On August 31, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan, destroying entire villages, killing more than1,400 people, and injuring more than 3,000. The hardest-hit areas were Kunar and Nangarhar Provinces. Families have lost homes, loved ones and access to basic necessities.

Church World Service is responding to the urgent needs of affected communities in partnership with our sister organization, Community World Service Asia (CWSA). Within hours of the devastating quake, CWSA response teams reached some of the hardest hit areas and are currently identifying and prioritizing the families most impacted. Planned assistance includes cash distributions, enabling survivors to quickly purchase the essentials they need most.

By contributing to CWS’s Emergency Response Fund, you will help ensure that we can provide essential, life-saving resources to our neighbors when it’s most needed.
