We will have NEW offerings from Point Nine for our food selection and have kept the same great breweries as last year. We will also have Mocktails too!

Getting out to exercise on the Red Bud Trail is a daily or weekly activity for many residents in east Wichita and Andover. Our speaker at our last club meeting was Craig Plank, board member of Andover Augusta RailTrail Initiative, AARTI.

The user count continues to climb as access to Santa Fe Lake Road is now completed. The next mile goal is to reach is Diamond Road then on to the city of Augusta. Look for monthly workday notices on Facebook to help work on the trail.

When the trail is complete, Augusta businesses will have trail users spend their dollars at restaurants, breweries and other establishments, in addition to the Andover businesses that are close to the trail.

Thanks Craig for presenting to our club! The book shown will be donated to the Andover Public Library in AARTI’s honor.

June was packed full of new information from our two featured speakers, Andover Mayor Ronnie Price City of Andover KS and Crosby Branham Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas.

We thank Mayor Price for educating us on the many new happenings in Andover like the new farmers market held on Saturday mornings at the Skylofts at The Heritage and opening of our newest street - Yorktown Parkway which runs north from Central Park to 13th St.

Crosby Branham educated us on the mission of the Workforce Alliance which is to grow the regional economy through a skilled workforce.
Her organization matches employers and employees along with helps employers start internships in several local industries.

Books signed by our guest speakers are donated in their name to the city library. Club president Angela Sader thanks them after signing.

Our club welcomed adult leaders of BSA Troops 533 & 1533 Andover, Ks to speak to our club recently. Adult leaders Bill Matthews and Scott Light presented and informed us of the many activities our two Troops and Cub Scouts had going on this past year.

Our Troop is nearing our 80th anniversary in 2028!

Club president Angela Sader presents a book that will be donated to our city library to recognize their taking time to speak and keep us informed as we are their Chartered Organization.

There are many outstanding charities in our metro area to support. One is Simply Hygiene.
They provide toiletries to those in need throughout our community. Seven club members and spouses recently met at their Park City facility for a couple hours and had a nice time packing toothpaste. Many hands make quick work!

Each year our club offers several $500 mini grants to Andover teachers for community projects that their students will accomplish. The teachers apply via a written grant application and this year the following 7 grants were awarded:

1. US Veteran Tribute organized by Andover eCademy
2. Kids for kids who serve underprivileged youth and poverty, Andover High School
3 Bread Donations organized by Andover Middle School
4. Cakes for a cause organized by Andover High
School
5. Bucket Golf stations organized by Andover High School
6. CAPS medical student community engagement
7. Community helper appreciation by Cottonwood Elementary School

It is amazing the number of people who are touched by these grants. We applaud the efforts of the students and teachers who develop and implement these programs to serve our community.

Rotary club member Keith Hancock spoke today about how he ended up in Andover after graduating in 2025 from K-State with a Civil Engineering degree. He also presented on what civil engineers do in their job. Our world would be filled with chaos as we journeyed out of our homes without them, is what I took away.
