We provide primary care, diabetes care, dental, behavioral health, OB/GYN, HIV/AIDs testing and more to Wichita and the surrounding area. Hunter Health had 57,484 patient visits in 2023. Our patient satisfaction rating in 2023 was 92%.

This week is Medical Assistants Recognition Week, and we’re so grateful for the medical assistants who make every visit at Hunter Health possible.

Our medical assistants welcome patients, take vitals, prepare exam rooms, update records, and answer questions. They keep our clinics running smoothly and help every patient feel cared for. Their compassion and hard work are a big part of how we’ve served our community for 50 years.

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the Native nations whose history is part of this land and part of Hunter Health’s own story.

Our team recently joined community members for a Trail of Tears remembrance walk. We walked in memory of the Native peoples forced from their homelands, and in recognition of the families and communities who carried their cultures, languages, and traditions forward.

We were honored to hear from Dal Domebo, Vice Chair of the Hunter Health Board of Directors, and Wichita City Council Member Maggie Ballard of District 6.

For 50 years, Hunter Health has been rooted in Wichita’s Native community, and that commitment to culturally grounded care and wellbeing continues today. Thank you to everyone who walked with us.

Meet the newest member of the Hunter Health team: our mobile van unit! Trinity Wedel, our Population Health Program Manager, gave us a tour of the van, bringing care to community events across Wichita. A big thank you to the Kansas Health Foundation, whose Clearway Testing grant made this van possible.

Our goal is simple: meet people where they are. If you spot us out and about, stop by for a free Clearway, HIV, or STI test, cool off for a minute, or just come say hi. We’d love to see you!

Today we're celebrating the physician assistants who care for patients across Hunter Health: Tori Barnes, Hannah Landenberg, Sarah Lindsey, Callie Wentling, and Emma Williams.
