The REALTORS® of South Central Kansas (RSCK) is assisting those impacted by the April 29 tornado.

If your family was impacted by the tornado, starting MAY 16th you can stop by the library to receive a comfort kit for children. These kits are for children who have lost their home or have been impacted by this traumatic event. Each bag will include such items as a stuffed animal, a book, crayons, a coloring book, and more. We will also have infant and teen bags with age-appropriate materials.
We will start handing these out TODAY, MAY 16th.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR THE MULTI-AGENCY RESOURCE CENTER:

The multi-agency resource center located at the Andover Community Center (1008 E. 13th) has extended their relief efforts through Sunday, May 15. We continue to encouraging individuals to wear a mask.

In order to qualify for possible financial assistance, victims of the tornado MUST go to Andover Community Center to register with United Way of the Plains and The American Red Cross. This is a multi-agency resource center, offering a variety of services to help those impacted, including water, snacks, supplies, and more.

Sunday, May 8 will be the last day The American Red Cross will be present at the Andover Community Center. Victims will be able to locate Red Cross at 707 N Main in Wichita starting Monday, May 9 or by calling 1-800-RED-CROS.

Andover residents, we continue to remind everyone to keep an eye out for suspicious activity, especially around the areas affected by tornado damage. If you see something suspicious, you need to call 911 immediately!!!

Those looking to volunteer:
Our next work day will be Friday, May, 6. Those interested must stop by the United Methodist Church in Andover (1429 N. Andover Road) on Friday, May 6, beginning at 9 a.m.to sign up and get your assignment. They anticipate work to last until 7pm. Volunteers MUST also check out at the church at the end of their shift.

The City has made contact with the Andover Post Office, Fed Ex, UPS, and Amazon to develop a plan for all residents in the affected areas to receive their mail/packages.

The Andover Post Office will be holding all undeliverable mail/packages until the resident picks up or provides forwarding info.

Starting Friday, May 6, FED EX will have all deliveries that were unable to be made, due to storm damage, delivered to Andover Police Department at 909 N. Andover Rd. Residents will need some type of identifying information to pick up their packages.

UPS packages that cannot be delivered today, Thursday, May 5 will be sent to their access point on Friday, May 6 at Woodward Mercantile 1313 E. HWY 54 (located just east of the YMCA).

We are still waiting on guidance from Amazon.

Folks can take care of this on their own by calling the carrier when they get notice a package it trying to be delivered. At that time they should contact their carrier if they want it to go somewhere other than the above mentioned locations.
