Huk Ayden Vogt,

We celebrate and honor you today as you turn the big 4️⃣! To think that it’s been 4 years seems so unreal. It feels just like yesterday when we welcomed you into the world and got to hold you for the first time, but it also feels like a lifetime ago since you have been gone. 7 weeks with you wasn’t nearly enough time, but we cherish those moments and are extremely grateful for the time we did get with you.

You are the one who made us parents, the one who taught us unconventional love, the one who made our hearts grow more than we ever knew was possible, the one who made us realize life is too short to take for granted and to always live in the moment. There is so much you have taught us and brought to us, like your little sister, Ayden Wren and your soon to be baby brother. You watch over us and take care of us, every day.

There isn’t a day that you aren’t on our minds and hearts, beautiful boy. We were robbed of a beautiful life of watching you grow up and become something incredible. Yet, in the short time you were here, you proved to us just how truly incredible you are with your bravery and strength and courage. Lord knows how much we love and miss you every day of our lives.

There will be lots of tears today as we navigate another year without you, but we will also be celebrating the fact that you are our beautiful son and an amazing brother to your siblings.

Normally I would've posted sooner, but better late than never right! We have been busy getting ready to welcome a third baby into our family sometime this month, another boy, so time has kind of gotten away from me. We would NEVER miss a moment to celebrate this precious boy of ours though. So we hope you will join us in honoring him in the coming days!

For most people, Halloween is a fun holiday where you get to play pretend and dress up, watch your children have the time of their lives, but for me, this is one of the hardest days of my life.

Three years ago was the last night we had with our sweet boy, Huk Ayden. I remember that day perfectly as we just held him and loved on him, and watched the snow fall outside. Now, every time it snows, I think of Huk 💙
“Snowflakes are angel kisses sent from Heaven”

Those seven weeks we got to spend with him, I will cherish forever. He gave us extra time with him that we didn’t think we would have, so I’m extremely grateful. Because this mama needed it.

I do my best to not let these moments bring me down because I know he with us looking after all of us, including his little sister, Ayden. There isn’t a second you’re not on my mind, sweet boy. The waves are just crashing a little bit harder today.

I love you, forever!

I follow this page because it truly speaks to my soul. This morning a friend sent this to me and just knew I needed to see it.

Huk Ayden Vogt, you are so loved and missed by so many. Every day is a new battle without you, but I know you’re there helping me get through it, too. 💙

Dear Mom,
I am still here. I am here for you when desperation creeps in between the spaces of our new realities. I am not gone. Every tear you shed, I collect it. I gather the rain, and to each drop I give life to the memories you and I have shared. I step into your dreams when you least expect it, and if you look hard enough, you can find me there.

Say my name. Remember me in the quiet moments. They will sustain you when the world intrudes and tries to drown out the sound of the conversations that you still have with me when you think no one else is listening. I am still here.

Mom, my soul is quiet now. It no longer yearns for the things my physical body needed to survive this particular battle. It took everything from me, and I know it took everything from you; you will never realize what that did to my spirit when I passed from that life into this one.

I know that you feel like you are losing your mind some days, but when you hear a heartbeat where none should exist, know that it is mine, keeping time with yours.

I am still here. I did exist. I left my mark upon this world, and I am at peace now.

This time of the year is really hard for my family and I. While most people are enjoying the changing of seasons and everything Fall, we put on a smile and act like everything is okay. Don’t get me wrong, seeing all the leaves changing colors, sipping on a pumpkin spice latte, and enjoying hoodie/sweater weather is beautiful and amazing, but for my family, we find ourselves dreading it at times. We should be thrilled that we can dress up as something silly or scary for Halloween. Be grateful for the upcoming holidays that we will get to spend with family. For us, they’re all things we are missing out on with our sweet boy.

October 31st was the last night we got to spend with our handsome boy, Huk Ayden, before he went up to Heaven. That night 2️⃣ years ago, he got to witness his first and only snowfall.

There will always be the what if’s and milestones that we will miss. I just wish we could have one more day with you. To snuggle you, love on you, to tell you how loved you are and how proud we are to be your parents, and that we will do everything in our power to make sure your legacy lives on.

This year for Halloween, we get to celebrate your sisters 1st Halloween! It’s all so bittersweet and tears will be shed because you should be dressed up for Halloween right along your sister. I promise you that you will be there with us and part of all the festivities and pictures.
