WPK recommends starting at age 40 and annually for women with health insurance. Women without health coverage and financially qualify for a free Kansas state funded mammogram without any breast health issues can get biannual mammograms (every two years) starting at age 40. Any woman prior to age 40 with breast health symptoms should talk with their doctor to determine next steps. For any age woman, if you do not agree with your doctor’s next steps, get another opinion(s) tell you are satisfied. Check back next month to see WPK mammogram events schedule for 2023.
