💙🦁 Community in Action! 🦁💙

Today, members of the Whitney Lions Club rolled up their sleeves and showed what service above self truly means by volunteering our time to pick up trash outside of town by the Country Club Retirement Community Assisted Living Center. 🌎✨

Small actions make a big difference, and together we’re helping keep Whitney clean, beautiful, and welcoming for everyone who calls it home. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out today—your time and dedication do not go unnoticed!

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who made the Lions International Mid-Winter Cabinet Meeting on January 31st a memorable and successful event. The Whitney Lions Club was honored to attend this wonderful gathering at The Barn in Lorena, TX.

A special thank you to the Robinson Area Lions Club for their outstanding hospitality and service. Your delicious breakfast and lunch truly fueled our day an created a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. We are grateful for your dedication and hard work!

We also want to express our gratitude to Lions Interntional MD2-X3 for hosting this important event. Your leadership and commitment to bringing area Lions together inspires us all, and your efforts to make gatherings like these possible.

Thank you to everyone involved for your service, fellowship, and unwavering support of our mission. Together, we continue to make a difference in our communities!

The Whitney Lions Club will provide vision screenings at the Community Health & Local Resource Fair this evening from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Lake Whitney Public Library. We invite all members to come out and show their support for our community. Let's make a positive impact together! 🌟

Meeting Announcement: April 15, 2025 at 6pm 📢📢

Hello fellow Whitney Lions Club Members! 🤗

We have several members who are out of town at this time, and won't be able to make it to the meeting tonight. Therefore, we will NOT be having the meeting at CCRC. Instead we will be having a Zoom meeting. 💻 I have sent the meeting invitation out via text message as well as email. If you have not received the invitation please let me know so I can get that to you. 😊

Please download and update Zoom before the meeting so that you don’t miss anything. 📱💻

I encourage everyone to join from the comfort of your home or wherever you are! I will be setting these up for future meetings as well so that all of our members have the opportunity to be present without having to be at the meetings physically. Our goal is to have as many of our members present as possible. 🙂

April is Leo Club awareness month! 🦁

In order to better serve our community, and the youth that live in Whitney, TX the Whitney Lions Club will be establishing a Leo Club of our own. Leos are ages 12-18 years old with a passion to serve their community.

The Leo Club is a worldwide organization that has served over 12 million people a year in communities all over the world. Not only is it a great opportunity for students to learn project organization skills, time management, and team building it also looks good on college resumes. 😉

Special Guest for the meeting this evening:

Past International Director Sam Lindsey

Past Director Sam Lindsey was elected to serve a two-year term as International Director at the 99th International Convention held in Fukuoka, Japan, on June 28, 2016. Past Director Lindsey is from Multiple District 2, Texas, where he served as District Governor for District 2-X3 in 2006-2007, and served the Lions of Texas as the 44th President of the Texas Lions Camp 2012-2013. PID Sam served as the Area F Chair for LCIF Campaign100 from 2018 to the conclusion of the Campaign at the 2022 International Convention in Montreal, Canada.

During his 50+ years of service as a Lion, PID Lindsey has received eleven International Presidents Awards, an International Leadership Award, five extension awards, the Grand Master Key Award and is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. PID Sam has received the Ambassador of Goodwill Award, the highest recognition conferred by Lions Clubs International, and has been inducted into the Lions of Texas Hall of Fame.

PID Lindsey is married to Lion Jodye Lindsey, also a Melvin Jones Fellow, and they have two daughters and four grandchildren. PID Lindsey serves as a Financial Advisor.
