Whitefish Community Foundation will be closed Monday, October 12 in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day and Columbus Day.

Speed networking was a hit! We are so grateful for all of our young pros who brought their energy and enthusiasm to this event.

Thanks to our friends at Center for Restorative Youth Justice for providing the coziest morning setting. 🙌

Thank you, Hayden Homes!

We’re grateful to Hayden Homes - Western Montana for celebrating the opening of Eagle Valley Ranch with a generous $2,500 gift to the Whitefish Community Foundation Kids Fund!

The Kids Fund supports local organizations working to help young people and families access housing, support services and other critical resources, intervening early to prevent homelessness and create stronger outcomes for kids across the Flathead Valley.

Thank you to the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce for organizing the ribbon cutting and the Flathead Building Association for helping make the celebration possible!

Congratulations to Kalispell Education Foundation and Kalispell HEART Program on their Kids Fund grants to support Kalispell students and families! 🏠

Thank you Whitefish Community Foundation for awarding a $40,000 Kids Fund grant to KEF for a tiny house construction project at Linderman Education Center!

This grant will allow career and technical education teacher Brian Bay to help students will work together to construct a finished tiny house that meets professional standards while receiving the encouragement, accountability and support they need to remain engaged in school and explore careers in the skilled trades.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity for Linderman Education Center students to learn through real work and to walk away with skills and confidence that will serve them for life,” said Dorothy Drury, Kalispell Education Foundation Executive Director.

After a record-setting Great Fish Community Challenge, we’re going fishin’! 🐟🎣

Our office will be closed Mon., Sept. 21, to give our staff a well-earned day to recharge after an incredible Challenge. We’ll be back Tuesday, refreshed and ready to dive into what’s next!

Thank you to our nonprofit community, donors, sponsors and everyone who helped make this year’s Great Fish one for the record books.

What a way to finish the 2026 Great Fish Community Challenge!

More than 4,000 donors came together to make over 15,000 gifts to 89 local nonprofits, raising a record-breaking $8.6 million and counting!

To every person who gave, shared, volunteered, sponsored, cheered on a nonprofit or helped spread the word: thank you. This incredible month of giving is possible because of a community that continues to show up for the organizations that make the Flathead Valley such a special place to live.

And we’re not done celebrating yet! Join us Thursday, October 22 from 5–7 p.m. at the Wachholz College Center for the Great Fish Awards Ceremony, where we’ll announce the final amount raised and the Great Fish Match.

Our final $1,000 Incentive Grant drawing needed a heavy hitter. ⚾🐟

We headed to Glacier Bank Park and called in the Glacier Range Riders for a little help drawing our final three winners!

Congratulations to Flathead Valley United, Montana Kayak Academy, and Glacier Art Museum, each receiving a $1,000 Incentive Grant!

And with that, our weekly drawings are officially in the books. Thank you to everyone who helped knock this year’s Great Fish Community Challenge out of the ballpark.

When Liz brought in the cowbell, we knew what we had to do. 🔔😎

We had a fever… and the only prescription was $7 MILLION!
