🌻🦋 WOW! AG Week with All Our Kidz has come to a close with the Grand Opening of **All Our Kidz: Jessica's Butterfly Garden!** 🦋🌻
Thanks to our incredible partnership with Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, we were able to expand and transform the craft area into something truly special. This project has been in the making for over a month, and today we celebrated the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our campers and community.
The campers of All Our Kidz planted native Florida flowers, painted recycled tires into colorful works of art, and helped transform a simple raised flower bed into a beautiful community masterpiece. Their names, handprints, and drawings now live on in the garden, bringing it to life with every stroke of a paintbrush.
Jessica's Butterfly Garden was created in memory of Ranger Jessica. Ranger Jessica had a remarkable love for children and shared our vision of growing alongside All Our Kidz. Sadly, she passed away before we had the opportunity to fully realize that dream together. To honor her memory and continue her legacy, we created Jessica's Butterfly Garden—a place where children can learn, grow, and connect with nature.
While the garden is still under construction and will continue to grow over time, visitors can already enjoy tire creations including a pig, frog, bumblebee, ladybug, motorcycle, and caterpillar. Our caterpillar display will serve as an interactive science lesson, teaching campers about the life cycle of a butterfly:
🐛 Caterpillar (Larva) – The butterfly hatches from an egg and spends its time eating and growing.
🦋 Chrysalis (Pupa) – The caterpillar forms a chrysalis where it undergoes an amazing transformation.
🦋 Adult Butterfly – The butterfly emerges, feeds on nectar, pollinates flowers, and begins the cycle again by laying eggs.
Each stage will feature flowers and plants that support butterflies throughout their life cycle, creating a hands-on learning experience unlike any other. The garden also includes raised beds where campers will grow tomatoes, peppers, and other vegetables.
AG Week was a tremendous success because of our sponsors, volunteers, visitors, and community supporters. Today, campers painted flower pots, planted flowers, and even gifted their creations to special visitors.
