The Friends of White Plains Public Schools, founded in 1997, supports students by funding academic and cultural enrichment programs that are not included in the district's budget. The Friends of White Plains Public Schools, formerly knowns as the Foundation for Public Education in White Plains, is dedicated to supporting our students by (1) Funding academic and cultural enrichment programs and not

included in the District's budget, and (2) Encouraging greater involvement in and support for the schools by parents, the community, and alumni.

📚Ridgway’s entire 4th grade had a unique learning opportunity: attending a live performance of Dav Pilkey’s “Cat Kid Comic Club,” followed by receiving individual copies of the book. The students engaged in partner and independent reading, had lively discussions with their peers, and eagerly shared their comparisons of the performance versus the text with their teachers.

What an experience! Rochambeau students visited the UN Headquarters in Manhattan, where Mrs. Gonsalves’s project-based learning units on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals came to life right before their eyes.
Seeing students recognize the real-world impact of what they learn in the classroom every day is the heart of a meaningful education.
