No accessibility = No usable transportation network

Accessibility is sidewalks without barriers, crossings you can actually use, and streets that don’t force people into unsafe workarounds. These aren’t separate issues from walking and biking, they’re the foundation of it.

We’re glad to see the City moving forward with an ADA Transition Plan! It is a real opportunity to identify barriers and prioritize fixes that make Wheat Ridge safer and more accessible for all who move through it.

There are multiple ways to get involved and help shape the outcome:

Join the open house on Wednesday, June 3 at the Active Adult Center (6363 W 35th Avenue) from 4:30–6:30pm, or participate online through June 30 via the project page: https://whatsupwheatridge.com/ada-plan

A safer 38th starts with you! Parents at Stevens Elementary need your input on making the crossing at 38th & High Court safer for kids and families. Take their quick 3-question survey—just scan the QR code in the image! Your feedback will help create a safer, more connected route to school and The Green. And if you're able to attend City Council on April 13th (arrive by 6:15pm, signups end at 6:25pm), your voice in person can make a big impact. Together, let's improve this important corner for our community!
