Welcome to SPOT ! 🎉 Found in Lissie in early December and not claimed by anyone after 3 days, he came into SPOT to get much needed vet attention!

And did he need it! Possible leg amputation, neuter, heartworm treatment, vaccines, as well as being groomed. The best news is he was accepted by our MN partner and they are covering his vet expenses, saving us at least $1500! 👏

Biscotti needs transport:
🚙 Tuesday 1/7, anytime, from Wharton to Houston (I-610/Hwy 290) for overnight prior to surgery at their vet.
🚙 Wednesday 1/8, after 3 pm, from Houston (I-610/Hwy 290) to return to Wharton foster.
SPOT can pay gas!

To volunteer for this opportunity, please complete our volunteer application at https://wcspot.org/get-involved/

While is he not available for local adoption? Because we are keeping a sharp eye on our finances to stay open for intakes all year.

Many thanks to Bev Baker for fostering and grooming him at no cost. 😇 Due to our page being disabled, we’re behind in posting. Stay tuned for more updates.

For more information, please message the page or email [email protected].

**COVERED: Thank you Lea Blecha, Hayley Gerke, Brittney Hobbs, Terri Lobpries and Hannah Mata.**

❗️Our landlord is going to turn the water off at our office tomorrow/Sunday night until the weather warms back up again … hopefully Wednesday. 🤷‍♀️

We have four kittens (kittens should go in pairs) and a small pup that need temporary fosters. It is too tricky to manage their care without water, plus the building doesn’t stay heated well.

📌If you can help as a temporary foster for 3 days, please message the page. We will provide food and supplies.

here made her New Years’ Resolutions:

✅ Hiking at Brazos Bend State Park.
✅ See an alligator!
✅ Meet some kids.

Ella also enjoyed going Christmas shopping last month and picking out a couple of toys, and meeting a Lowe’s employee. 🎉

Also on her list and yet not completed:
⭕️ Forever Home!

Ella is smart as a whip! She’d enjoy going for daily walks or runs, and playing with other dogs and sturdy toys (no stuffed ones for this gal!). She’d be a good candidate for agility or working dog competitions. She’s 8 months old,, about 35 lbs, collie mix, got the cutest ears, and is move-in ready. Ella qualifies for our foster-to-adopt program.

10 months! 10 months out of their 12 months on earth, these two cuties have been without a home. 🤪
Their fosters are amazing individuals and have navigated the puppy stages with grace, but it's time for Daisy and Davy to find their furever homes.

If you're ready for a pup who knows the ins and outs of a home but is ready to embrace the new routine and life of the day to day with you, ask about them.
Daisy and Davy are one year old, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

It’s a New Year and Wharton County’s homeless dogs and cats hope you made a Resolution to help them! 📝💙🐾

Our new President, Gacy Skates, resigned.

We are searching for a new President, as well as a 2nd Vice President/Education (current position open) and Public Relations (currently filled by Christine Stransky).

A complete Board is critical to the success of SPOT’s mission. Since 2008, we’ve saved over 5,600 dogs and cats and hope to save another 365 in 2025. But we need YOU! 🫵

Make 2025 you decide to Make A Difference! , here, is depending on you. Email [email protected] for more information on the Board positions.

📌 Davy is a delightful young dog who would like to play with your dog, sit next to you on the couch and give you unconditional love! Don’t let the photo fool you; he’s a medium-sized dog at about 35-40 lbs. Email [email protected] for adoption information.
