Alzheimer's Education, Resources, and  Services AERS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving families and caregivers of patients with Alzheimer' Alzheimer’s Education, Resources & Services, Inc.

(AERS) is an Alabama non-profit corporation which seeks to provide education about Alzheimer’s Disease to family caregivers, staff of care facilities and other medical professionals, as well as the general public. AERS also provides information and counseling to family caregivers and supports the efforts of local caregiver support groups.

🧠💪 Humana Cognitive Games! Check out this article about how Humana Healthcare is encouraging seniors to exercise their brain during the 2025 National Senior Games that kicks off in Des Moines, IA this month. So glad more companies are recognizing the importance of exercising your brain. 💪🧠

Helpful tips for reframing your approach to someone with dementia!

When faced with resistance to care from individuals with Alzheimer's, it's common to perceive it as anger. However, this resistance could be a form of communication rooted in fear, discomfort, or misunderstanding.

Rather than viewing this resistance negatively, we train our caregivers to reframe their interactions with empathy and understanding. It's just one way we put your loved one at the center of their care.

***KEYNOTE SPEAKER PROFILE. Angel C. Duncan, PhD, MA- MFT, ATR. is the Education & Clinical Trials Program Manager for Life Molecular Imaging, U.S. Clinical Operations. She has an extensive background in counseling psychology, art therapy and Alzheimer’s disease clinical research. Her doctorate is in Psychology with a focus in Gerontology. Angel has over 20 years of experience in neurocognitive, memory and psychiatric disorders. In 2019, she founded and co-developed the Arts in Mind program, a virtual young-onset and early stage dementia program at the Yale University Art Gallery. Angel speaks globally about dementia and mental health. She is a widely published author and featured in diverse media for her work.

***KEYNOTE SPEAKER BIO & TOPIC*** One of our 3 keynote speakers is Amber Evans. Amber is the Vice President of Memory Care and Resident Engagement Services for LCB Senior Living. She oversees all aspects of the company’s renowned and award-winning Reflections Memory Care Program, as well as their Engagement Program with their cutting edge 5 principles for Vitality for thriving senior living.

Her keynote speech will be about "Tapping into the Creative Power Within Us." This interactive session will allow participants to simultaneously gain more information around creative and expressive caregiving, while also gaining a deeper sense of self along this journey. The session will explore new ways to enjoy moments, and just not survive the moments. It will give theory and practical tools to take in all caregiving experiences.
