Our focus is on helping individuals with developmental differences gain the skills and experience needed for them to live self-determined lives. Programs center around employment readiness; employment placement and retention; and community inclusion. Program activities take place at our four program sites and throughout the greater Kansas City Community. Early Work Experience Program services are provided in the context of social enterprises which include retail markets, catering services and gardens. Our retail markets are bright, happy places full of unique merchandise and kitchen/home essentials. Our three retail markets are located at:
415 Main Street Weston, MO
23200 Hwy 273 N Weston, MO

To celebrate National Disability Employment Month, we're sharing some exciting news! 💛 Abbey is moving from an internship to employment at a local daycare center!

During her internship, Abbey has made great progress in completing job tasks independently and developing her ability to take initiative. She especially enjoys singing and playing with the children while helping teachers in the classroom.

We're so proud to see Abbey take this next step in her employment journey! Way to go, Abbey! 🎉

Early Work Experience student Parker helped enter our newest inventory into our system! 👏

From navigating a computer system and entering information accurately, opportunities like this give our students a chance to learn the ends and out of a retail market. Getting to practice these skills while still in school is such a unique part of our Early Work Experience Program and helps students build confidence and prepare for their future careers.

Be sure to swing by our markets to see what's new! 💛
