ATTENTION ALL FOLKS DOING FLOOD RELIEF WORK
Lewis County Mutual Aid is hosting a community meeting for any organization, group, etc. that are doing flood recovery in Lewis County. The meeting is set for tomorrow, Thursday 7/30 at 6pm, at the donation center at Marketplace (284 Market Place Plaza).
So many amazing folks are doing so many amazing things - cleaning and repairing homes, feeding people, maintaining information, and distributing donations. And after 1 week, we think hosting a meeting to learn who is doing what and how we can help each other help community members is beneficial, and will only help us do what each of us are doing better.
Our goals are:
*Creating a list of points-of-contact for different groups
*Assessing who is doing what, and when, and where
*Seeing who has what resources, and who needs them
*Having a few minutes to breathe and think ahead!
We want to be clear: this meeting is NOT to coordinate or manage or direct each other’s efforts. And there is no pressure to come. But we hope it IS a chance for all of us to learn from one another and help all of our time and resources go further by collaborating even more.
This meeting is open to anyone, but ideally would have only 1 or 2 people from any group to keep the conversation moving. We will have dinner and drinks!
