The Conejo Valley Alano Club is being built as a safe harbor, a place for fellowship, and a home for anyone on the path of recovery. Whether you're a newcomer looking for hope or a long-timer ready to give back, this space will belong to all of us.
As a volunteer-driven nonprofit in our "Building the Dream" phase, we rely on the generosity of our community to make this vision a reality. If you're in a position to help, every donation goes directly toward securing a permanent home where connection, service, and recovery can thrive.

Your support ensures that no one has to walk this path alone.

Thank you for being part of our story and for helping us build this dream from the ground up!

Now that we’ve officially filed our Articles of Incorporation and receved non-profit status from the IRS, we are full steam ahead on our mission to create a permanent home for recovery in the Conejo Valley. Our vision is a safe, stable, and welcoming space where fellowship can thrive every single day.

To make this dream a reality, we’ve launched the "Building Fund for Conejo Valley Club" campaign on Givebutter.

Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward securing a physical location where newcomers and long-timers alike can find support, service, and connection. This isn’t just about a building: it’s about building a legacy of recovery for generations to come.

Will you help us build the dream?

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Together, we can create a home where no one has to walk the path of recovery alone.

Big news! We are so pleased to share some exciting milestones as we build the vision for the Conejo Valley Alano Club.

On May 20, 2026, our Founding Board of Directors held its very first official board meeting! We’ve committed to meeting monthly to keep this momentum going and build a strong foundation for our community.

We are also proud to announce that our Articles of Incorporation have been successfully filed with the California Secretary of State! This officially establishes the Conejo Valley Alano Club as we begin our journey toward creating a permanent home for recovery, fellowship, and service.

Please join us in welcoming our Founding Board:
- Stephanie Anderson, President
- Kelley Curtis, Vice President
- Mike Curtis, Director at Large
- Steven Bird, Secretary
- Ian Spragg, Treasurer

We’re calling this phase "Building the Dream." While we don’t have a physical location just yet, the foundation is being laid one day at a time. Together, we’re creating a place where no one has to walk their journey alone.

Stay tuned for updates as we grow!

They often call it the 'second miracle' of recovery. While meetings provide the message, Alano Clubs provide the home. We’re building something special here in the Conejo Valley: a safe harbor where connection happens every single day, not just once a week.

We are looking for heart-centered leaders to join our very first Board of Directors meeting and help us shape the future of this community.

Come help us create a space where laughter replaces isolation and coffee leads to lifelong mentorship. Let’s build a lasting light for the Conejo Valley together.

When: Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Time: 5:30 pm
Where: 2829 Townsgate Road Suite 100 #51, Westlake Village, CA

Imagine a place where recovery isn't just a meeting, but a community that never sleeps.

We're building the Conejo Valley Alano Club from the ground up, and we want you to be part of the foundation. We’re working hard to secure our first permanent home: a dedicated, supportive space for fellowship, service, and connection. This isn’t just about a building; it’s about creating a safe harbor where no one ever has to walk the path of recovery alone.

To make this vision a reality, we need our community’s help. We’re currently looking for "pioneer" volunteers and fundraising support to help us secure our first location. Whether you have time to give or can contribute to our building fund, every bit of support brings us one step closer to opening our doors.

Let’s build this together, one brick at a time. Message us to find out how you can get involved or click the link in our bio to donate!

Why do we call it "AA’s Second Miracle"

In the 1930s, it became clear that a one-hour weekly meeting wasn't enough to sustain a new way of life. People needed more. They needed a place to go when cravings hit at 2 AM, a safe spot for their families, and a community to "practice these principles" in a social setting.

That’s how Alano Clubs were born.

These clubhouses are known as the "Second Miracle" because they provided the vital missing link: Fellowship. It wasn't just about staying sober; it was about learning how to live sober, together.

Today, the Conejo Valley Alano Club is carrying that torch. In a world that often feels isolated, having a dedicated "Third Space" for recovery is as essential now as it was 90 years ago. We aren't just opening an office; we’re preserving a legacy of connection that saves lives.

Are you a part of the miracle? We’d love to hear how fellowship has changed your life in the comments.

Big news! We have a home!

It might be a "humble beginning" office for now (we’re a groundswell organization, after all, and staying lean on costs is how we grow!), but we officially have a physical location to start building our vision.

Small space, BIG heart.

This means we are officially ready for our regular board meetings, and we want YOU there. This isn’t just our club; it’s yours. Whether you want to volunteer, share ideas, or just see the "miracle" in progress, our doors are opening for the work to begin.

Come sit in with us, meet the team, and help us turn this groundswell into a wave of recovery for Conejo Valley.

The foundation of the Conejo Valley Alano Club is being built: and we want YOU to be a part of it!

We are thrilled to announce that our very first Board Meeting will be held in April 2026! This is a huge milestone as we work toward creating a dedicated space for recovery, fellowship, and service in our community.

While we are still on the hunt for our perfect physical home, the heart of the club starts with its people. We are looking for:
✨ Volunteers to help with early-stage planning.
✨ Community members ready to share their voices and vision.
✨ Anyone passionate about building a supportive recovery space.

Recovery is a team sport, and we’re building our starting lineup!

Interested in getting involved or attending? Drop a comment below or send us a DM. Let’s create this "second miracle" together.

The Heart Behind the Alano Club ❤️

Alcoholics Anonymous was founded on a simple principle: independence. But as recovery grew, it became clear that we needed more than just meetings: we needed a place to belong.

Independent clubhouses, often called "24 Hour Clubs," were born from this need. They became known as Alano Clubs, or as many call them: "AA’s second miracle."

Our Vision:
The Conejo Valley Alano Club isn't just a building; it’s a living, breathing community. It’s where:
Coffee and conversation become lifelines.
Mentorship happens naturally.
Newcomers find hope and long-timers give back.
No one has to feel alone on their hardest day.

We are currently in our foundation phase, searching for the perfect home to anchor this vision. A place that is clean, warm, and filled with fellowship.

We’re honored to carry this legacy forward. Who’s ready to help us build it?

Imagine a place that isn't work and isn't home: a "Third Space" where you are always welcome just as you are

Conejo Valley Alano Club is officially on the move! We are currently on the hunt for our physical home, a dedicated space where the recovery community can gather, build fellowship, and support one another in a safe, neutral environment.

Whether you are a newcomer, a long-timer, or a traveler passing through, our vision is to create a living, breathing community where you never have to feel alone. We're building a stable harbor for meetings and connection that goes far beyond just once-a-week gatherings.

We are so excited to announce that our first board meeting is set for April 2026! This is a huge milestone as we lay the foundation for what’s to come.

We’re still in the beginning stages, but the vision is clear. Stay tuned as we build this home together. We can't wait to open our doors to you soon!
