JFS is seeking Jewish men ages 65+ for a one-time Aging in Place focus group!

Aging in Place is the ability for individuals to live in their own homes and communities safely, independently and comfortably, as they age. Aging in place includes having care, support and services provided in people’s homes and communities and having access to social, recreational and educational opportunities. Typically people need more supportive services as they age, and it can be challenging to find or select such services. Also, to age well and thrive it is important for individuals to establish and maintain social connections, stay physically active, contribute their wisdom and skills and pursue their interests. What JFS learns from survey responses, listening sessions and other research will help determine whether there is sufficient interest to create a local membership-based program and if so, what the program will “look like” and what offerings it will provide.

Are YOU are interested in participating in a one-time Aging in place focus group, in person on Wednesday, August 10, from 7-8:30 p.m.? Please email JFS Executive Director Cindy Smith at [email protected]. Group will be limited to the first 12 participants to sign up.

“The Social Bridging Project provides social connection,” says Thom Smythe, coordinator at the Social Bridging Project. “Our wellness calls allow our participants to feel cared for, heard, and connected to others in their community. Not only do we provide social support, but we also connect those same individuals to resources they are not currently receiving. We have successfully assisted folks in receiving tech support, medical/mobility equipment, transportation, and various other services.”
