There's still room in the May workshops with David Owen Hastings. This is an amazing opportunity to take workshops with a nationally renowned teacher.

Wednesday is Indi-Go-Modern where each participant will develop a simple geometric block design based on unfolded origami shapes, set a theme and create variations, and combine them into the beginning of a fresh and modern mini quilt top.

Thursday is Inspired By Art. Bring your own photo of a work of art or use one of the ones David provides, and we will explore the many ways you can take inspiration from it to develop your own quilt block or full quilt design. David will also demo sewing curves.

Volunteers are busy pricing fabric and other items for the big Mall in the Hall quilter’s rummage sale scheduled for May 2, 2026. The sale will feature quilting fabric, kits, books and patterns, and notions. In addition, there will be vintage sewing items, quilt blocks, finished quilts, and much more.

Hours: 9 am to 2 pm. Early entry will be available at 8:30 am with a $10 cash donation.
Location: Gym at the First Church of the Open Bible, 2200 Beaver Avenue, Des Moines
Payment: Cash, checks, and PayPal will be accepted

Proceeds benefit the DMAQG Community Giving Program. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
