A few days well spent in San Antonio at the NACG NACG Grief Symposium, learning from and connecting with others who are passionate about supporting grieving children and families.

The Olivia Chan Foundation team is heading home inspired and excited to put what we’ve learned into action.

Thank you to everyone who shared their knowledge, experiences, and passion for this important work.

A little late sharing this, but we attended 31st Annual Dragon Boat Festival a couple of weeks ago.

The room was filled with AANHPI leaders, advocates, and community builders who continue to show up for Sacramento in meaningful ways. It was a great reminder of how important representation, collaboration, and community care are.

It was also wonderful seeing the Leong family and getting to watch .leong perform.

Grateful for evenings like this that bring people together, celebrate community, and recognize the people making a difference.

Sometimes grief shows up
before the conversation even starts.

You sit in the parking lot a little longer.

You practice saying their name
without crying.

You decide which version of the truth you have the energy for.

Most people mean well.

But grief has a way of turning ordinary questions
into invisible landmines.

What many people don’t realize
is that sometimes the hardest part about grief
is deciding, in real time,
whether to protect your heart…
or protect someone else’s comfort.

It’s been a heavy month of reflection, gratitude, and connection. We’re feeling really grateful for this community and the spaces we get to show up in.

A couple of weeks ago, we attended a fundraising high tea event with to help support survivors of domestic violence and the work they do to provide safety and resources for families.

Then we tabled at the walk to help raise funds and awareness for individuals and families impacted by Angelman syndrome, and to support ongoing research and resources. Thank you, for having us and allowing us to share our resources with your community.

Two different events, but the same purpose behind both, showing up for families, building community, and reminding people they’re not alone.

Grateful to be part of it all. 💜

A little late sharing this… but maybe that fits.

Grief doesn’t follow calendars, and sometimes the words take longer too because it’s the kind of pain words can’t fully hold.

I was honored to speak networking event about Mother’s Day grief, and this is a small piece of that talk.

Thank you to for creating space to share our stories and meet others doing this meaningful work.

It was also wonderful meeting Shannon from and hearing your story. Thank you for sharing the work your organization is doing to support grieving families.

For anyone carrying both love and grief right now, you are not alone. 🤍

We just want to say thank you.

To everyone who gave, shared, or thought of us during … THANK YOU.

Because of you, more children will have a place to go with their grief. More families will feel less alone. And more moments of connection, comfort, and hope will happen inside our space.

This work only exists because people like you choose to show up for it.

We see it. We feel it. We’re so grateful for it.

From all of us at the thank you for helping us help others shine, even in the hardest moments.

Mother’s Day holds so many different stories.

For some of us, the house is loud with laughter and chaos.
For others, it feels quiet in a way that’s hard to explain.
For some its memories you wish you could hold again.

And for many of us… it’s all of it at once.

Motherhood doesn’t really look like one thing. It never has.

So we honor all of it. The moms in the middle of chaos and joy. The moms holding grief and love in the same breath. The moms remembering. The moms still becoming.

If you’re a mom in any way at all, you are seen. 💜
