What an amazing first experience at Mega India 2026!

We loved being part of this incredible celebration and connecting with so many wonderful people. From meaningful conversations and inspiring community stories to incredible performances, the day was filled with connection, culture, and community.

A special thank you to Dr. Parikh for inviting us and to the Indian Association of Sacramento for welcoming us so warmly.

It was also wonderful connecting with our friends from Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen, ocasacramento and Asian Resources Inc and celebrating alongside such an amazing community.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share Olivia Chan Foundation mission and be part of such a beautiful day.

Grief is weird. You can be doing something completely normal, like taking your car to the car wash, and suddenly it hits you all over again.

I found a little LEGO in the car and for a second, it felt like a little piece of her was still there.

So I left it exactly where I found it. Because sometimes, we’re just not ready to let go of the little pieces.

Thank you, Jim, for inviting Olivia Chan Foundation to your annual grief retreat. It was an honor to witness the meaningful work you and your incredible team are doing. Kara

One of the most moving moments came from a child who, while taking in the beauty of the campground, noticed what appeared to be a broken heart in the landscape. It was a powerful reminder that grief can change the way we see the world, but it does not take away the beauty around us. Even in brokenness, there is still hope, and healing can begin in the most unexpected places.

We’re grateful for the chance to learn from you, connect with others who share this mission, and continue building a community where no child has to grieve alone. Thank you for all you do. 💜

Grief is hard. Talking about it can be even harder, especially for men.

No one wants to be part of this club, but if you’ve experienced loss, you didn’t choose it. That’s why we’re creating a space where men can show up, be heard, and support one another without judgment.

We recently held our first Men’s Grief Group, and we’re grateful to everyone who had the courage to attend. We’re already looking forward to our next meeting.

At OCF, we believe no one should have to grieve alone. While resources for grieving men remain limited, the need is undeniable. That’s why we added a Men’s Grief Group to our programs, creating a place where men can connect with others who truly understand.

We also offer peer-to-peer grief support groups for children and teens. If you or someone you know is navigating the loss of a loved one, we’re here to help.

A few more snapshots from our time in San Antonio. 💜

One of the best parts of the symposium was reconnecting with friends, finally meeting some of our online friends in person, and spending time with people who have supported and encouraged us along the way.

To everyone who has shared their knowledge, offered guidance, answered questions, and cheered us on as we continue to grow, thank you. Your support means more than you know, and we’re grateful to be part of such a caring community.

We left with full hearts, new friendships, and a deeper appreciation for the people who make this work possible.
