Voting for Byron is a vote to pave the Panhandle, Florida’s timberlands, and massive 15,000 acre plots!

Big New York developers just gave $100,000 to Byron Donalds, and they backed (and will likely re-file) a controversial “Blue Ribbons Projects” bill that wanted to fasttrack 15,000 acre plots to development and paving.

Many of these plots are in the Panhandle, and the same developers have been buying up lots of timberland which initially qualified under the bill for clear-cutting and development.

Don’t New York my Florida!

Depending on our voices this week & open ears of Commissioners, 1,000 more acres could be paved & units built

There are 12 meetings (so far) this week to stop reckless development, find one and attend! Also search if your county or preferred meeting has a virtual option to speak (most don’t, so if you can’t go be sure to send emails and calls in advance, those are also on the county’s website)

Mark these 3 development meetings down:

October 27 @ 9AM Collier County Commission - Urge approval of 68 acres of wild land near Marco Island to Conservation Collier

October 27 @ 2PM Orange County Commission - Urge denial of the Lake Pickett North Agricultural Enclave Certification that would fast track dozens and dozens of rural acres to development

October 29 @ 6PM Jupiter Town Council - Urge approval of the Zoning Board’s recommendation of denying a marina at the Suní Sands development proposal, expansion of the conservation area, and keeping the sea grass and coast, with a buffer, free from development.

More events and meetings will be posted tomorrow on the week’s anti-development calendar ⚠️

Epic CrocFest but I may have spent more time with the American Flamingos…

Great to run into Gatorland’s S A V A N N A H B O A N and other conservationists and wildlife enthusiasts

And of course had to visit the Amazon & the Florida Everglades exhibits. The crocodile tunnel is great 🐊

Afterwards went down to the Keys where the King Tide is already moving tons of animals around.

Here’s how conservation & social media are so important for Florida’s wildlife and future 🐊

Gatorland and Savannah do incredible work & the park is a staple that you have to visit.

And a great time at CrocFest seeing the animals and running into other wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists.
