We’re learning as we go—and we want to be transparent with you. Here’s a snapshot of what the perfect organization would look like (hint: nobody’s perfect, but the closer you are, the better!):

✅ 501(c)(3) public charity, operating 5+ years
✅ Annual revenue under $100K
✅ 100% volunteer-run
✅ Cares for long-lived animals AND multiple species
✅ Operates on land they own
✅ Keeps a detailed financial ledger
✅ Engaged Board with meeting minutes
✅ Clear website and strong anti-exploitation policies
✅ Submits a complete, concise application

Due to the large number of strong applications, we will be setting a submission deadline of May 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM EDT.

After the deadline, we’ll complete interviews with a short list of finalists and make our funding decisions a few weeks later.
