For 10 years, Extraordinary Kids Foundation has been committed to improving the lives of special needs and medically complex children and their families providing care, resources, support, and hope when it is needed most.

In this special moment, our Founder & President, Madean Gilzene, reflects on a decade of impact, the families we’ve reached, the children we’ve served, and the journey that has brought us to this incredible milestone.

But this isn’t just a celebration of where we’ve been. It’s a celebration of where we’re going.

Official Statement from Extraordinary Kids Foundation

To everyone who has reached out with support, prayers, and encouragement following yesterday’s hearing, thank you. Your kindness has reminded us that we are not standing alone. Thank you to our volunteers, supporters and community partners for attending the hearing and standing with us.

Yesterday’s hearing was never just about Extraordinary Kids Foundation. It was about what kind of community we choose to be.

During the hearing, neither the magistrate or the town attorney could clearly define how our organization meets the legal definition of a homeless shelter. Instead, our work was described as “homeless adjacent” because we provide food, showers, clothing, and other essential services to people in need. The truth is, the majority of those we serve are families, children, seniors, veterans, and individuals facing difficult circumstances.

Compassion is not a zoning violation.

Extraordinary Kids Foundation has never operated a homeless shelter. We provide hope, resources, and dignity, not beds. We don’t ask people if they are homeless before serving them because every person deserves compassion.

The magistrate recommended a 90-day period for us to continue working with the Town toward a resolution, and we welcome that opportunity in good faith.

No matter what lies ahead, our mission remains unchanged. We will continue serving our community with excellence, advocating for those in need, and standing firm in the belief that helping people should never have to be defended.

God has been faithful through every challenge, and we trust Him with what comes next.

We are not discouraged. We are determined. And we will continue to serve. 🙏🩷

We’re honored to be featured by the Palm Beach Post, highlighting the work happening at the EKF Provision Center.

From our Saturday community outreach to our Monday–Friday support for families of children with special needs, we’re committed to meeting people where they are with dignity, compassion, and hope.

You’ll also meet Tim, whose journey from receiving support to now serving others in our pantry is a beautiful reminder of what restoration looks like.
