¡Felicitaciones a las 16 mujeres que completaron con éxito nuestro Programa de Capacitación de Promotoras de Salud!

Durante ocho semanas, las participantes fortalecieron sus conocimientos y habilidades en educación para la salud, promoción y defensa de la salud, liderazgo y conexión de las familias con los recursos disponibles en la comunidad. A través de las clases y una visita a un centro de salud comunitario, ahora están mejor preparadas para servir y apoyar a nuestra comunidad.

En el Centro Esperanza creemos que cuando invertimos en las mujeres, fortalecemos a las familias y construimos comunidades más saludables.

Extendemos un agradecimiento muy especial a las profesionales Jezabel y Deborah por su compromiso, dedicación y liderazgo al guiar y acompañar a este grupo durante todo el programa. Congratulations to the 16 women who successfully completed our Promotoras de Salud (Community Health Worker) Training Program!

Over eight weeks, participants gained valuable skills in health education, advocacy, leadership, and connecting families with local resources. Through classroom learning and a visit to a local community health center, they are now better prepared to serve and support our community.

At Esperanza Community Center, we believe that when we invest in women, we strengthen families and build healthier communities. 💙

We extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated professionals, Jezabel and Deborah, for their commitment to teaching, mentoring, and leading this group throughout the program. Their knowledge, compassion, and encouragement helped make this experience meaningful and inspiring for all of the participants.

🎨 ¡Comenzó nuestro Campamento de Verano en Esperanza! ⚽️ 🖼️

Hoy dimos inicio a nuestro Campamento de Verano en el Centro Esperanza y estamos muy emocionados de dar la bienvenida a las mamás y sus hijos para disfrutar juntos de un verano lleno de aprendizaje, creatividad y diversión.

A través de actividades de pintura, lectura, juegos y dinámicas interactivas, las familias tienen la oportunidad de compartir tiempo de calidad, fortalecer la comunicación, fomentar relaciones familiares positivas y apoyar el desarrollo y aprendizaje de los niños y niñas.

Nuestro programa se enfoca en reforzar comportamientos positivos mediante el juego, la participación activa y experiencias compartidas que ayudan a fortalecer el vínculo entre padres e hijos.

Esperamos disfrutar de un verano lleno de sonrisas, nuevas experiencias y momentos especiales para toda la familia.

Today we’re sharing a glimpse of the work happening at Esperanza Community Center.

Every day, we meet day laborers where they are. We listen, we build trust, and we share information that can make a real difference in their lives.

This work is important because too many workers face challenges like wage theft, unsafe working conditions, and limited access to healthcare and reliable information. At Esperanza, we are working to change that.

Through outreach and education, we provide tools and resources around wage theft prevention and recovery, health information, heat safety, and overall worker protection.

But more than anything, this work is about empowerment. It’s about making sure workers know their rights, feel supported, and have access to the resources they need to protect themselves and their families.

We are grateful for partners who stand with us in this work. Thank you to Jack the Bike Man, Jack The Bike Man, for providing bikes to our workers and families, helping them get to work and navigate daily life.

And thank you to Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, for supporting our community with guidance and resources around workers’ rights.

We also want to recognize our staff and volunteers for their relentless and tireless work to support our workers and their families.

We are proud to stand with our community and continue building pathways to safety, dignity, and opportunity.

Today was a special day at Esperanza. Through our partnership with FoundCare, we were able to provide dental care to children in our community.

We are grateful to the doctors and healthcare professionals who gave their time and expertise, to the parents who trusted us with their children, and to our staff who made it all happen.

Yesterday we received a generous donation from the employees of the City of West Palm Beach and members of the community as part of Community Development Week.

We’re grateful for their support and for thinking of the Esperanza Community Center and the families we serve. These items will go directly to our community and help meet everyday needs for many.

We recently hosted a Health Fair at Esperanza Community Center, bringing together partners and resources to support the health and well-being of our community.

Services included mammograms provided by Promisefund, as well as glucose, blood pressure, HIV, and hepatitis testing offered by Monarch Health Services. We were also grateful to have nutrition education provided by the University of Florida.

In addition, families were able to access essential support through the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies diaper and formula pantry.

These are services that many in our community don’t always have access to, and it was important to bring them directly to the center.

We are grateful to all of our partners, staff, and volunteers who made this possible, and to the families who continue to trust us.

Realizamos una jornada de salud en el Esperanza Community Center junto a nuestros aliados.

Se ofrecieron mamografías con Promisefund, pruebas de glucosa, presión arterial, VIH y hepatitis con Monarch, educación nutricional con la Universidad de Florida, y apoyo a familias a través de la despensa de pañales y fórmula de Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies.

Las participantes de Mujeres Fuertes tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar el Norton Museum of Art a través de su programa CAP.

Lo que para algunos puede parecer algo simple, para ellas fue realmente significativo. Vivieron una experiencia nueva en un espacio hermoso aquí mismo en nuestra comunidad, y tuvieron la oportunidad de disfrutarla juntas, compartiendo conversaciones, perspectivas y su tiempo como grupo.

Recorrieron las galerías, incluyendo la exposición de Rembrandt y obras de fotografía, participaron en un proyecto de arte práctico dirigido por uno de los artistas del museo y compartieron un almuerzo juntas.

Agradecemos a Andrea Gil, facilitadora del programa, y al personal y guías del museo por hacer de esta una experiencia tan especial e inolvidable. También agradecemos al Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County por su apoyo a este programa.

Estos son los momentos que nos recuerdan que el acceso importa, y lo significativo que es crear espacios donde nuestra comunidad pueda explorar, aprender y disfrutar nuevas experiencias juntos.

The Mujeres Fuertes participants had the opportunity to visit the Norton Museum of Art through their CAP program.

What may feel simple to some was truly meaningful. They experienced something new in a beautiful space right here in our community, and had the chance to enjoy it together, sharing conversations, perspectives, and their time as a group.

They explored the galleries, including the Rembrandt exhibition and photography works, participated in a hands-on art project led by one of the museum’s artists, and enjoyed time together over lunch.

We are grateful to Andrea Gil, our program facilitator, and to the museum staff and guides for helping make this a wonderful and unforgettable experience. We also thank the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County for their support of this program.

These are the moments that remind us that access matters, and how meaningful it is to create spaces where our community can explore, learn, and enjoy new experiences together.
