WE’RE HIRING: AFTER-SCHOOL YOUTH EDUCATION LEAD INSTRUCTOR & TEACHER ASSISTANT

Esperanza Community Center is seeking a Lead Instructor and a Teacher Assistant to support its after-school Youth Education Program, helping middle and high school students strengthen academic skills, build confidence, and prepare for future success.

This small-group, after-school program provides supportive academic instruction focused on literacy, reading comprehension, writing, study skills, and college and career readiness.

Available Positions
• Lead Instructor: Provides small-group academic instruction, lesson support, and guidance for middle and high school students.

• Teacher Assistant: Supports the Lead Instructor with student engagement, classroom activities, and program materials.

Two Small Groups
• Middle School Group – up to 12 students
• High School Group – up to 8 students
The Lead Instructor may teach one group or both groups, depending on availability and program needs.

Areas of Instruction
• Reading comprehension and literacy
• Writing and vocabulary development
• Critical thinking
• Study and academic skills
• Academic confidence and readiness

The Lead Instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering instruction. The Teacher Assistant will help support classroom activities, student engagement, and program preparation.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have experience teaching, tutoring, assisting with classroom instruction, or providing academic support to middle and/or high school students. Experience in literacy instruction and working with English language learners or students from diverse backgrounds is preferred.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but not required.

Hola, soy Maricela Torres, Directora del Centro Comunitario Esperanza.

Me da mucho gusto compartir con ustedes que este otoño estaremos lanzando nuestro nuevo Programa Educativo para Jóvenes, un programa gratuito después de clases diseñado para apoyar a estudiantes de secundaria y preparatoria.

Sabemos que muchos jóvenes pueden beneficiarse de un poco de apoyo adicional para fortalecer sus habilidades de lectura, escritura, comprensión, vocabulario, pensamiento crítico y hábitos de estudio. Por eso hemos creado un programa donde recibirán instrucción en grupos pequeños, en un ambiente seguro, acogedor y dirigido por profesionales con amplia experiencia en educación.

Nuestro objetivo es ayudar a los estudiantes a desarrollar confianza en sí mismos, mejorar su desempeño académico y prepararse para graduarse de la preparatoria, continuar con estudios universitarios o técnicos, y alcanzar sus metas.

Aunque el programa es especialmente beneficioso para estudiantes que están aprendiendo inglés o necesitan apoyo académico adicional, está abierto a todos los jóvenes que cumplan con los requisitos.

En el Centro Comunitario Esperanza creemos que cada joven merece la oportunidad de alcanzar su máximo potencial, y nos sentimos orgullosos de ofrecer este programa completamente gratis para las familias.

Hello everyone! I’m Maricela Torres, Executive Director of Esperanza Community Center.

I’m excited to share that this fall we’ll be launching our new Youth Education Program, a free after-school program designed to help middle and high school students build the academic skills they need to succeed.

Through small-group instruction, students will strengthen their reading, writing, vocabulary, critical thinking, and study skills in a supportive and encouraging environment led by experienced education professionals.

Our goal is to help students gain confidence, improve their academic performance, and prepare for high school graduation, college, and future careers. The program is especially helpful for students who could benefit from additional academic support, including English language learners, but it is open to all eligible students.

At Esperanza Community Center, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and we’re proud to offer this program at no cost to families.

If you have a middle or high school student who could benefit from extra academic support, we invite you to learn more and enroll. We look forward to helping your child succeed.

As summer comes to an end for our kids, we are filled with gratitude for another wonderful season of creativity, learning, and fun.

Over the summer, our young artists explored new techniques, expressed themselves through art, built friendships, and gained confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment. Watching their creativity come to life has been truly inspiring.

A heartfelt thank you to our talented instructor, Lupe, for sharing her passion and guiding our students every step of the way.

At Esperanza Community Center, we believe every neighborhood has a story to tell. In partnership with Artists of Palm Beach County, we invite you to participate in our community photography challenge, “The Place Where I Live.”

Show us what you love most about your neighborhood through your photos. It could be a favorite place, a beautiful view, a neighbor, a special moment, or anything that makes your community unique.
