Our mission is to provide professional quality entertainment for an affordable cost to all patrons. Pleasant Valley Productions (“PVP”) was formed in 2012 as an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) community theatre company. Based in West Essex County, we observed that our area of New Jersey had no theatre companies that focused on mentoring local youth in the technical and administrative, as wel

l as the artistic aspects, of theatrical production. Keeping that in mind, our goals are to produce quality productions, mentor the development of young people in the technical, administrative, and artistic roles of a theatre and to develop new works and provide a platform for their expression.

Led by celebrated Grammy-winning alto saxophonist and NJPAC's Director of Jazz Instruction, Mark Gross.

🎵 The Jaleel Shaw Trio
Featuring celebrated alto saxophonist Jaleel Shaw, this blazing trio fuses lyrical melodies, fiery improvisation, and a deep musical and spiritual connection that showcase why Shaw remains one of Jazz's most in-demand alto saxophonists.

🎵 Montclair State University Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Oscar Perez
This accomplished collegiate ensemble showcases emerging Jazz talent through exciting arrangements, powerful performances, and a dedication to the continued evolution of the art form. Led by the venerable pianist/educator and West Orange's own Dr.Oscar Perez.

🎵 The Freddie Hendrix Experience & Fellowship
Led by the acclaimed Grammy-winning trumpeter, Freddie Hendrix, this electrifying ensemble combines soulful expression, modern innovation, and the rich tradition of Jazz that will leave on the edge of your seat.

Led by renowned and Grammy-winning drummer Dion Parson, this high-energy ensemble fuses Jazz with the vibrant rhythms and spirit of the Caribbean, creating a joyful celebration of culture, creativity, and community.

🎤 Hosted by WBGO’s Monifa Brown

From soaring brass and soulful vocals to mesmerizing vibraphone, dynamic big band sounds, and vibrant Caribbean rhythms, this year's festival offers something for every music lover.

MEET THE CAST!

Pleasant Valley Productions invites you to join us tomorrow, Friday August 7th, at 8pm for Apartment Swap!

Apartment Swap is a witty, heartfelt comedy that follows Lily, a successful romance novelist who is preparing to marry her long-distance British fiancé while searching for a larger apartment through an apartment-swapping app. As three very different women, each at a crossroads after the end of a relationship, visit her tiny Washington, D.C. studio, their stories force Lily to confront her own fears about love, independence, marriage, and the future. Apartment Swap explores what women gain and lose in relationships across generations, ultimately celebrating the idea that love and equality can coexist when partners choose one another as true equals.

Pleasant Valley Productions has made the difficult decision to postpone our mainstage production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

As many of you know, our outdoor venue, The Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center is currently undergoing significant site improvements. While we are grateful for the strong support and collaboration from the Recreation Department and our local school district in exploring alternative venues, it has become clear that this production deserves to be presented in a fully completed, newly renovated OSPAC. We believe postponing will allow us to deliver the level of quality and experience our audiences expect and this show merits.

We are pleased to share that our Summer Intensive program will proceed as scheduled this July at Liberty Middle School. Following that, we look forward to gearing up for a celebratory grand reopening of OSPAC at our Annual Jazz Festival in September.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back for an exciting new season.

Pleasant Valley Productions Announcement – Summer 2026 Season Update

Pleasant Valley Productions is excited to share some wonderful news about the continued evolution of the Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center (OSPAC).

As part of a series of meaningful site improvements in celebration of OSPAC’s 25th Anniversary, the venue is currently undergoing enhancements designed to elevate the audience and performer experience for years to come. These upgrades include new ADA-accessible seating, stadium-style seating at the base of the field, a redesigned driveway, enhanced field lighting, a brand-new stage floor and more.

Due to the construction timeline associated with these exciting improvements, Pleasant Valley Productions will present its Summer 2026 season indoors at Liberty Middle School, ensuring a comfortable and accessible experience for all patrons while work continues at OSPAC.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to a beautifully improved OSPAC for its Grand Re-Opening in September, which will coincide with our beloved West Orange Jazz Festival—celebrating its 19th year.

Please note that some previously scheduled outdoor events that are not suited for an indoor venue will be postponed and rescheduled for after OSPAC’s grand re-opening.
