Today marks World AIDS Day, a global initiative that unites individuals in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Since its inception in 1988, communities have come together on this day to demonstrate strength and solidarity against HIV stigma, while honoring the lives lost. The purpose of World AIDS Day is to highlight the real-life experiences of individuals living with HIV today, while celebrating the strength, resilience, and diversity of the communities most affected. It serves as a catalyst to inspire leadership and create a future where HIV no longer impedes anyone's life.

OUT in NELA believes that Trans and nonbinary people deserve not just equality. They deserve safety, dignity, joy, and more than anything, they deserve to grow old.
