Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Morris Family.

🚧 Traffic alert: We have baseball & softball games Saturday, and WM football has home games too. The funeral for Kevin Morris is at Calvary Chapel Saturday also. We have spoken with WMPD and Parks and Rec. - They will be opening the entrance to the park on Fell Road. For the day, you can enter from Flanagan or Fell.

They have advised us traffic will be congested, so please plan accordingly & allow extra time.

As everyone is aware, this past weekend our agency lost one of our team members in a traffic crash while responding to an Officer Involved Shooting. Agent Kevin Morris, who was killed in the line of duty, was a 16 year veteran of law enforcement having served previously with the Palm Bay Police Department and more recently with our agency as a Homicide Agent. Kevin was not only a great cop, but he was an amazing son, husband, dad, grandfather, coach, and friend!! He was a strong man of faith and a mentor to so many within our agency!!

First and foremost, I want to thank our citizens, our community, and the thousands of first responders from across the nation who have lifted our agency and Kevin’s family up in prayer, as we face this most difficult of times!! I always say that it takes a community to protect a community and the show of love for Kevin and our agency has been truly amazing!!

Kevin will be laid to rest with full Law Enforcement Honors this coming Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Calvary Chapel Melbourne at 2955 Minton Rd., West Melbourne, FL. The services will begin at 11:00 A.M. with the bestowing of Law Enforcement Honors taking place outside the church immediately following the Celebration of Life Service. Our citizens and community that Kevin so proudly served, are invited to join us for the celebration of Kevin’s life as he loved this community and was so proud to serve with our agency!!

If you plan to attend the service please plan to arrive no later than 10:30am and expect significant traffic delays in the area as there will be a huge law enforcement and first responder presence from agency’s across the state of Florida that will be in attendance!! The service will be live-streamed by Space Coast Daily.

On behalf of Kevin’s family and our entire agency, thank you for all of your support during this very sad time for our agency. We are truly blessed to serve in a community that loves its law enforcement officers and stands with them each and every day!!

Here’s to a weekend of dry air & sunshine so we can meet back at the ballpark next week!

The recent rainfall and continued expected forecast has definitely taken a toll on the fields - Rodes Park baseball & softball fields are closed today and through the weekend to allow adequate time for drying.

Hey WMLL! We were hopeful it would dry out tonight - but unfortunately we had to make a hard call. We have 52 teams to look out for and have to make the best choice for the league. We are closed tomorrow.

Thank you all for being so supportive of opening night tonight. We hope everyone had fun! We are looking forward to kicking off the season Monday!
