Accepting Reflections entries now through Oct 16! ๐จ๐๐พ๐๐ฅ๐ท๐ถ
Reflections is much more than an art competition - it encourages students to look within themselves and recognize their feelings then express those feelings through art! This year's theme is "What My Culture Means To Me." Students are invited to create art based on their interpretation of the theme.
There are seven categories to choose from:
Visual Arts-2D
Visual Arts-3D
Film Production
Music Composition
Photography
Literature
Dance Choreography
They may enter as many categories as they like and will be competing against other students in their age division.
Students who identify as having a disability have the option to enter in the "Accessible Arts" division, which has modified rules and guidelines. If they choose to enter in the Accessible Arts division, they will be competing against other artists in this division instead of the age-based divisions.
You will submit their entry online at utahpta.org/ref. On this website you can view the official rules for Reflections, as well as the specific rules for each category. I went over a couple rules with the students, but you'll want to review the rules as well. Make sure it is original artwork (not something they made previously, and not someone else's art/idea) and that it is done by the student (no group projects). You can also view previous winners at the state level and get an idea of what types of projects are maybe more likely to win.
Entries are due online by Friday, October 16.
Every participant will get a prize and an invitation to our awards ceremony! Winners will get extra prizes and special recognition and will advance to the next level! And the class with the most participation will get a class party!!
Most of the answers to any questions that come up will be found on utahpta.org/ref, but if you still have questions, please feel free to reach out!
Thanks for supporting your students in expressing themselves through the arts!
