There are moments that remind us exactly why Achoteinu exists.

On June 17, 2026 one incredible family—a husband, wife, and their children—completed their journey of conversion to Judaism. It was a journey filled with dedication, faith, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to becoming part of the Jewish people.

To celebrate this beautiful milestone, they stood together under the chuppah the following day, beginning their new life as a Jewish family.

What made this day even more extraordinary was the overwhelming love shown by our community.

Thanks to Achoteinu and the incredible generosity of so many members of the West Hempstead Jewish community, we were able to create a beautiful chuppah and seudah for this family. People volunteered countless hours, donated food, flowers, décor, and other necessities, helped with every detail, danced with complete strangers, and celebrated with open hearts.

By the end of the evening, they were no longer strangers.

They were family.

This is what Klal Yisrael is all about—opening our hearts, embracing those who join our people, and showing that being Jewish means belonging to something much greater than ourselves.

To every person who donated, volunteered, celebrated, and helped make this day unforgettable: thank you. You didn’t just help create a wedding. You gave a family a community, a place to belong, and memories they will cherish forever.

This is the mission of Achoteinu. And with your continued support, we can continue to walk alongside women and families on their conversion journey and ensure they never walk it alone.

We are so excited and deeply grateful to share that Achoteinu has been invited to speak at the YIWH Sisterhood Shavuot Learning! 🌸

This meaningful opportunity allows us to continue our mission—supporting and uplifting women on their journey of conversion and beyond. Achoteinu was created to ensure that no ger feels alone, unseen, or unsupported—and there is no more fitting time to have this conversation than on Shavuot.

The story of Megillat Ruth reminds us:✨ Ruth chose a life of commitment with courage and love — “Where you go, I will go.”✨ True belonging is built through kindness, loyalty, and acceptance.✨ A ger is not an outsider, but an essential and cherished part of our people.✨ From Ruth’s journey came generations of strength—including King David himself.

There’s something that doesn’t get talked about enough—how it can feel to come into Judaism by choice and still feel like you’re standing on the outside looking in.

Jewish converts choose this path with intention, commitment, and love. It’s not casual—it’s deeply personal, often spiritual, and sometimes incredibly challenging. And yet, even after all that, some still find themselves feeling like they don’t quite “fit,” like they have to prove themselves, or like they’re being quietly measured.

But here’s the truth: Judaism has always been a people built not just by birth, but by those who chose to join. That choice should be honored, embraced, and respected—fully.

Community matters. And a strong community is one that opens its doors wider, not narrower. One that makes space at the table without hesitation. One that doesn’t ask “where are you from?” with suspicion, but says “we’re glad you’re here” with sincerity.

Organizations like Achoteinu, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting gerim, are doing incredible work—helping individuals from the very beginning of their journey and continuing well beyond. That kind of support, guidance, and inclusion is exactly what strengthens our community as a whole.

We all have a role in shaping that kind of environment. A smile, an invitation, a conversation—it goes further than you think.

Because no one who chooses to be part of something so meaningful should ever feel like they don’t belong.
