🎼 GIYA KANCHELI: The Genius of Silence
Join internationally acclaimed clarinetist Julian Milkis and pianist Maxim Lubarsky for an intimate program of Kancheli’s deeply moving miniatures from his film and theater scores. The evening concludes with a screening of the composer’s final documentary, I Used to Hate Clarinet.
Kancheli’s music speaks in whispers rather than shouts—filled with beauty, stillness, longing, and extraordinary emotional depth. Whether you’re discovering his music for the first time or have loved it for years, this promises to be a memorable experience.
