A brain tumor diagnosis often means repeated trips for tests, specialist visits, and treatment. It can also mean missed work and trouble keeping up with rent, groceries, and utility bills. Connecticut businesses can help by sponsoring CTBTA, which funds patient transport, grants for daily living costs, and pediatric and adult brain tumor research. Pick the part of our work that fits your values, and tell your customers why you chose it.

Last month we had the privilege of supporting the CT Brain Tumor Alliance at their September 17th event — and we’re still feeling grateful for the experience. 💙

Events like this are a powerful reminder of why community matters. The CT Brain Tumor Alliance does incredible work supporting patients, families, and caregivers navigating one of the most challenging diagnoses imaginable — and being even a small part of that is something our team doesn’t take lightly.

To everyone who came out, volunteered, donated, and showed up for this cause — thank you. You made it something special.

And to the patients and families at the heart of this work — we see you. We stand with you. 💙

We are proud to support the activation of a new Phase II clinical trial at Yale Cancer Center for patients with recurrent glioblastoma: Sacituzumab Govitecan in Recurrent Glioblastoma.

Dr. Nicholas Blondin serves as a National Co-Principal Investigator for this study.

“Sacituzumab Govitecan is a new form of cancer treatment, known as an antibody-drug conjugate,” said Dr. Blondin. “The antibody specifically targets cancer cells, allowing for the linked drug molecule to selectively kill cancer cells and spare normal cells in the body. This drug is FDA-approved to treat advanced breast cancer, and due to promising preliminary research, we believe it could also be a breakthrough treatment in glioblastoma.”

Yale Cancer Center received funding support from the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance (CTBTA), allowing for study activation for patients at Smilow Cancer Hospital.

“We are proud to support this clinical trial at Yale,” said Chris Cusano, CEO of the CTBTA. “Glioblastoma remains a very challenging cancer to treat effectively, and we are hopeful that new treatment strategies such as Sacituzumab Govitecan will help patients survive longer and maintain a good quality of life.”

Supporting innovative research and expanding access to promising clinical trials is an important part of our mission. We are grateful to our donors and supporters who make investments like this possible and help advance new treatment options for the brain tumor community.

Together, we are funding hope and advancing the fight against brain tumors.

Going back to school after pediatric brain tumor treatment is more than a return to class. Fatigue shows up right away, and memory and focus changes from radiation can appear months or even years later. A 504 plan for extra time and rest breaks, a part-time schedule at first, and one school contact who tracks progress can help your child recover without falling behind. Our guide covers 504 plans vs. IEPs, home tutoring, modified PE, and helping kids reconnect with classmates.

WE DID IT - $1 MILLION!

Together, we’ve reached an incredible milestone: $1 million in revenue raised through Brainstormin’ since its inception in 2014.

This milestone belongs to everyone who has supported this event and the Connecticut brain tumor community along the way - our donors, sponsors, volunteers, performers, families, survivors and friends. Thank you for believing in this mission.

And we’re not done yet!

Online donations will continue to be accepted through the end of September if you’d like to help us keep the momentum going.

Your support will continue to make a difference for the local brain tumor community through vital research projects, patient outreach, and patient assistance funds, all providing hope and support to those impacted by brain tumors right here in Connecticut.

$1 million down. So much more to do!

What a night!

Together, we raised $166,480 at Playing for the Cure: Brainstormin’ 2026, bringing us just $908 away from $1 million raised through Brainstormin’.

From the incredible performances by brain tumor survivors Jeremy Goldsmith, Eric Finland and Alex Cohen, joined by Jay Stollman, to DJ Miles Elliot, to celebrating this year’s June Rice Courage Award and Heart of Care honorees, the night was a reminder of what makes this community so special.

Most of all, it was a night about community - patients, survivors, families, friends, doctors, caregivers, supporters, sponsors and volunteers all coming together for a common purpose.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Brainstormin’ 2026 such a memorable night. We’re incredibly grateful for your support.

Take a look back at the night in our highlight reel!

And we’re not quite finished yet. Donations remain open through September, and we look forward to reaching this incredible milestone together.
