There was a time when many LGBTQ+ people didn’t have the words, visibility, or space to openly express who they were.

Today, that landscape is changing. Young people have access to language and connection that previous generations often didn’t. Rainbow Connections Foundation exists to help create more of that room, informed by the lived experiences of the adults who came before them. 💜

Not speaking for young people. Listening, advocating, and making space alongside them.

There is something beautiful about loving someone enough to let them become more fully themselves. 💜

Not asking them to stay the same. Not needing to have all the answers. Just making space for who they are, wherever their journey takes them.

Cassie & Jace’s story is a sweet reminder that sometimes the most powerful thing we can give someone is the freedom to be themselves and the reassurance that we’ll still be there.

Acceptance can make an enormous difference in the life of a young LGBTQ+ person. For some, acceptance is there from the beginning. For others, it can be the difference between having a safe place to call home and having nowhere to turn.

At Rainbow Connections Foundation, we see how deeply that support matters and why community organizations like Edge New Jersey are so important. We’re incredibly grateful for the kind of love that lets a person grow up knowing they are accepted exactly as they are. ❤️

In this clip, we’re sharing a conversation with Dover First Ward Council Member Daniella Mendez at Edge NJ. Daniella is a powerful voice in her community, and we’re grateful she took the time to sit down with us and share her perspective.

To everyone who showed up, showed love, volunteered, performed, created, screened, danced, laughed, connected, and helped make Rainbow Connections Community Day what it was — THANK YOU. 🌈💛

Our hearts are so full.

A HUGE shoutout to our incredible team and every single volunteer who gave their time, energy, talent, and heart to make the day happen. Events like this don’t happen without the people behind the scenes, and we are endlessly grateful for every one of you. 🫶

🎬 The film screenings were such a success, and we’re so grateful to every filmmaker and storyteller who trusted us to share their work and help create space for these important stories. Also wouldn’t have been possible without Kiko! 🙌🏻

A very special celebration was had for Julia Petters and the students of her 20th Anniversary Recital! What a beautiful milestone to share with the community. Congratulations on 20 years of music, movement, creativity, and giving young people a place to shine. ✨

And of course, none of this would exist without our founder and fearless host, Addie Adelaide Day, the host with the most. 💜🌈 Your vision, your heart, your determination, and your belief in what this community can build together are the reason we were all there in the first place. We are so grateful for you and everything you continue to pour into Rainbow Connections.

This was a COMMUNITY day in every sense of the word. And you showed us exactly what community can look like when we come together.

We’ve always existed. 🏳️‍⚧️

The world hasn’t always made space for us, but we can create that space by telling our stories, speaking our truths, and reminding the world: we are here. We exist.

Millions of trans people are part of this country and our communities. We deserve to be seen, heard, accepted, and remembered. Our stories belong in our history books, in our families, and in the future we’re building together.

Visibility is powerful. Storytelling is powerful. And when we tell our stories, we make it impossible to erase us.
