Short version: 1) Wash recyclables. 2) Check your municipal regs. 3) Foamy plastic products are usually trash. 4) Glossy or waxy paper products have plastic coatings and are not recyclable. 5) Recycling and plastic bags are incompatible. Overall guidance: reusing and not buying are better than recycling.
